    History of the Nato strap?

    My Google-fu is weak today
    Did someone in this fine forum ever cover this topic? And if yes, could you please point me to it?
    I am aware that the Nato is based on a previous British military strap, but it’s a bit slim...

    Ref. the pre-history, this article references the VB Hygenique, which is an early strap, all in canvas, but with the extra bit like a NATO. I have one on a 1950s Stowa Armee Francaise.
