My wife looked over my shoulder this morning when I was looking at the Jura website and she encouraged me to buy the Turtle. Well done that girl.

I think I might have Managed to track down a grey dawn samurai but I am in reserve to look at it as someone else got in first, I expect they will purchase it, if not the shop will call me mid week. To be fair I think I have missed out on this one.

The Seiko boutique is still showing it has some (thanks Ryan). The Turtle is showing as out of stock.

I had the same experience with The Seiko Boutique. All well until the final delivery details and then it wouldn't progress further. I believe they must have sold out on the Samurai earlier.

Most likely in the minority but imho the Samurai looks to be the nicer of the pair.

There is a youtube video up, Linky to it

Not in English but the watches look great. I did like the Samurai but seeing the case I have changed my mind; the Turtle looks brilliant.

For those who might be interested, Tic Watches are showing that they have both of these in stock; worth a try? 👍

Postie delivered this 5 mins ago, first impressions all good so far. The sun made a very brief appearance so quickly tried (and most probably failed) to get a decent shot.

Christ! have you hidden them well.
The 'Finance Director' at Dicky Towers turns a sort of blind eye provided that the collection doesn't have any brands she recognises. This is the advantage of Seiko! Because you can pick up a 5 for under a ton it's easy to say "Grand Seiko?? It's just a Seiko m'dear" ;-)

However, I think your purchase might actually be pretty cunning. We know both the turtle and the samurai Grey Dawns are European Ltd editions at 2018 watches of each type - this is much lower than most Seiko Ltd Editions. Chat on the Far East Seiko Forums and those in the states is drool over these and rightly so - they look the dogs - remind me a bit of those 'grey' Tags you used to see in the early 1990s. Jura obviously still have them and so do a couple of the other dealers at £430 (Samurai) and £470 (Turtle). But they're already pooping up on the 'bay at £800 as the speculators gather. I suspect that these will go the same way as the Blue Ocean did or some of the rarer models of the Monster. International collectors will definitely want one and if you can keep them in good nick, I doubt you'll lose any money - might even make some, if you decide to flip them (or one)

I have to say, I am seriously tempted but suspect I will have to pul the trigger in the next 10 days or so to get one as they are the proverbial 'hot cakes'

Question for you - the Turtle comes with both the bracelet and that awesome grey divers rubber.
Does the Samurai come with the same strap combo? I know it comes with the bracelet but I really like the grey rubber.

It’s just the turtle that comes with the additional grey rubber unfortunately.

Mine (Turtle) is at home waiting patiently, looking forward to seeing this in the flesh. It looks like it might be a keeper.

As I was in London I thought I would check out some watches and wandered into the Seiko Boutique in Knightsbridge to have a look and I bought the grey turtle on the spot. It's a cracking piece for the money. There was another guy in the store also buying one. They had 4 or 5 in stock so I got to pick my number, not that any of them meant anything.

Mine has just arrived too. Loving the dial. The rubber is very comfy but a little too big for my wrists so onto a Grey NATO it will go

Hoping to get confirmation from Hillier Jewellers tomorrow that their stock of the Grey Dawn Samurai has arrived and they're sending it out to me (already paid for pre order). Told the wife today I'd bought one and she wasn't bothered in the slightest👍

After a manic day at work, I was delighted to find Mrs Sish handing me this little bundle of joy when I got home. No. 776. I much prefer the metal bracelet so after I've got myself fed and cleaned up, it will be out with the watch tools and get a few links out.

Was meant to be getting my Samurai on Friday but just been informed by Hilliers that there will be a delay. Seiko haven't sent them their stock today as there's a problem with the boxes☹

New stocks? There were only 2018 made of each model across the whole of Europe so I very much doubt there’ll be anymore on the way, hence why people are paying way over RRP on EBay and Chrono24.

As ever though, I stand to be corrected.

This reminds me of the time everyone (myself included) went paddy over the Padi..

Not as limited, granted, but this is a Seiko we’re talking about.

I gave up with adjusting the bracelet and let a dealer do it for me. Apparently you can adjust them to half a link size ?
Fits great now and only charged £7.00

There’s an old Chinese proverb that says ‘only an unWIS(e) man confuses the PADI turtle special edition with the Grey Dawn turtle limited edition of only 2018 pieces.’ 😀
