Forgetting to look at the time. Is this normal?

Recently I've caught myself looking at the particular watch I'm wearing, and then afterwards wondering what the time is. Is it normal to look at a watch without registering what the time is, or does it just indicate another level of watch collecting?

Do this all the time myself. Blame the watch for being too pretty!

Definitely, especially when evaluating a watch.

I`ve been known to buy watches as 'fixer uppers' then decide I like them too much to sell, so I end up keeping them. It's a process that takes several days or even a couple of weeks, after the work's complete the watch gets worn to finalise regulation and that's when I decide whether it's staying or going..........telling the time doesn`t come into it!

Currently making my mind up about a 1965 Seamaster 600, it's on the wrist and I keep looking at it!

I do this on a regular basis!

Often the third time before I actually remember to check the time...

    Glad it’s nit just me😀

I’ll look at my watch, the Mrs says what time is it? I check the phone and tell her the time!

Absolutely! Sometimes I forget to wind it until half way through the day.

    Absolutely.
Do this all the time (no pun intended), particularly with something new to the collection.

Too often, and get a bit self conscious when doing so at work - people must think I am counting down the hours as I keep looking at my watch but have no idea what time it is.

Yes, do that a lot. As above, it must look odd if someone catches me looking at the watch again after just a few seconds.

Perfectly normal behaviour. When you regularly take your watch off to look at the movement through a case back. That is getting a little extreme.

It's a sure sign you are in love with the watch on your wrist... or something with less commitment... lust maybe
