    Breitling's new Premier Collection

Some improvement, particularly the B01 in house chrono, although 39-40mm would have been my preference.

DO we know if the B01 chronograph movement is a sole Breitling manufacture or is it in collaboration with Tudor again?

B01 is Breitling, and Tudor use it in their cronos, in much the way Breitling use the Tudor 3 hand movement.

The Breitling website makes interesting reading at the moment- the old model ranges have been vastly reduced in numbers and options and you can clearly see a direction they are moving with the new ranges as they bring them in .

I will be interested to see what happens when the new boss gets to the professional range .

Premier B01 panda dial for me too .

When was it decided that a seconds hand isn't complete without having its tip dipped in red paint? Really looks incongruous with some of these designs. Seems to be a common thing atm.

Much improvement from Breitlings other design, but would I pay almost 7K for those Chrono’s over something from Tudor? No I wouldn’t. The black/white chrono just looks like an expensive version of the Hamilton Intra-matic, which is less than a third of the price!

I kind of like it personally, though admittedly it can go wrong quickly if the designer doesn't really understand what to do with it - and furthermore, I always like it when something moves a watch's design more towards the sports territory.

Which brings me to the main point - Georges Kern clearly sees all the Breitling range moving in the direction of the Premier line. I'm guessing that in a few years' time, they'll have dropped the non-Heritage Superoceans and possibly also the Avenger and Colt lines, because they already look out of place. My guess is, Kern simply doesn't like the miliary-pilot genre that Breitling owned for so long and can't work with it - no other explanation makes sense to me, especially since at IWC, he clearly preferred the Portofino and Portugieser lines to the Aquatimers. And it's not as if the market changed and now dress(y) watches are all the rage, so why push the brand there? Granted, Breitling has the heritage of such designs as well, but that was 80 years ago when all watches looked like that - in fact, this was the sportiest look there was. I don't mind expanding the range or giving more of the spotlight to these new designs if they turn out to be popular, but I have a hard time even thinking of brands that a lot of Breitling fans could turn to in the future - no-one does Breitling as well as Breitling themselves.

Gotta agree. I have lusted after a hulk for as long as I can recall; yet the bling of the bracelet and the bloat of the case gave me pause for thought (in addition to hulks being unobtainable and Goldsmiths waiting lists being poorly managed and subject to arbitrary revision).

The green b01 Breitling solves the bracelet and bloat problems of the hulk, whilst bringing the lovely British racing green colouring out in a tasteful and horological offering. Very nice. Going to find one to try out....

A huge improvement on their line up, finally cleaner dials with batons rather than numerals!

Very much like the first Transocean 43mm models that came out around 2010-ish.

Bagged a simple 3-hander with date.

Then....and this is the test, they went on to bloat the TO43 with all sorts of cr@p and over-egged it.

Hopefully, they will keep to these simple designs and people will start to buy again.

I get where you're coming from but on the BRG version it just looks superb.

As for Breitling's business model, it's a very interesting one. I love all of their stuff as it's so different to any other brand-certain not to my taste but I love them all the same. I do hope they don't turn into a a Tag Heuer clone as has been mentioned, there is room in the market for something different IMHO

Completely agree, really like the look of that... never thought I’d hear myself say that about a Brietling.

The Premiers look good, and the Transocean also had similar simple Panda dials, so Breitling are not just the big and shiny brand that many think they are.

This. Why are Breitling making Carrera re-issues?
Doesn't make any sense to me at all.
Then again, perhaps it does. George Kerne was responsible for IWC ditching 80% of its heritage, so why wouldn't he do the same for Breitling. That idiot is so fascinated with his own legacy that he is willing to junk the legacy of the companies that are silly enough to employ him.

These new models look understated and classy. The 7750 powered one is interesting. IIRC don't the 7750 movements only get wound by the rotor going one way? I had a 7750 powered superocean chrono some years back and if you flick your wrist the right way the rotor went nuts spinning away without tension.

Would love the B01 but seems a little pricey. I assume usual breitling discounts could be achievable though

    These look great.
I have been avoiding Breitling as a brand but I would buy one of these, the black/white is lovely.
