Wow.
I’ve been there and Kennedy a few times and the ex astronauts and engineers are always an absolute joy to talk to.
During the summer we visited the often overlooked Sands Space History Center at Cape Canaveral. It is a fascinating place, packed full of historical information and rocket artefacts, and staffed by a team of enthusiastic volunteers. It's also completely free.
We were shown around by a retired NASA engineer who shared entertaining tales of astronaut escapades and life working on the Skylab and Shuttle era space program. As we were departing he asked whether our daughters might like a few mission patches and stickers. They said that would be very nice, and he told us to write an address on a note pad in the reception area. We jotted down a UK address and thought that if a couple of patches for each of the girls turned up in the post we'd be pretty made up.
A few weeks later a padded envelope arrived with these inside. What a gent.
Wow.

So clever my foot fell off.
That's really cool. Think I want to start a new collection of stuff now!
What a nice thing to do.
Mission patches have a bit of a following so you may be lucky and have a few collectible patches there. Regardless, it’s a cool start to a collection should they develop an interest.
Wow. They look really really cool. A very nice gesture from the engineer.
Thanks ,that’s good to know I’m currently in Florida and planning on going to Kennedy

"A man of little significance"
That's the kind of thing that would have blown my mates away if I had these at school. Cool collection and what a guy
What a lovely gesture and some handsome patches.
I've been in the rocket garden but never seen the inside exhibits.
I'll be over again next month so will probably get out there again, my son lives on the space coast.
Cheers,
Neil.
Wow, what a fantastic gesture and so very kind of the chap!

Really nice gesture
I did a tour of NASA Houston and the ‘guide’ was a nasa employee who had been awarded a silver snoopy.
Cool guys!
I'm off to Florida in January and plan a trip to Cape Canevral, you just reinforced my resolve.

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
What a great story and couldn’t have happened to anyone more deserving.
That Skylab patch would have been my holy grail as a kid, I was captivated by it at the time.
It was very touching that somebody we had only just met went out of his way to do this. Naturally the girls have sent a nice note of thanks.
We were fortunate to meet Jack Lousma whilst at Kennedy SC, he was the pilot for Skylab-3 amongst a great number of other achievements. Another absolute gentleman, he was generous with his time, warm-hearted, and even kindly posed with the 'TakeTime' watch.
