    GMT Root Beer

A friend of mine is contemplating the purchase of this from a dealer at quite a good price.
He’s worried that it looks over polished and would love some opinions He is going up to view it next week but doesn’t want a wasted journey! from here!

The clasp is overpolished, crown is almost gone, case doesnt look THAT bad but would need more pics of lug holes, watch like this would not make me happy unless it was bargain.

Agreed, the case doesn’t look bad at all from those pics just a shame about the clasp crown, obviously picked up a lot of desk diving scratches during its life and been regularly polished. Certainly worth a look going off the case.

At £13k, he is certainly getting a surprisingly sizeable discount on the current £16.5k asking at Worthingtons, not know for their discounts but with no service history and the over polishing, £13k is a decent price but add on a service from RSC and it may give a pause for thought. Would only buy if sure this was a long term watch on the wrist.

My friend tells me it is the one from Mark Worthington and 16k is the price without px. He’s going to wear it on a strap so the clasp wear isn’t really an issue to him. Is this a reasonably buy for the money?

I don't have the knowledge to comment on the watch but I can say from personal experience that Mark Worthington's are absolutely first class to deal with.
