In a thread a while back someone said they all just look the same. I used to think that but now I'm a bit more informed it's amazing how varied they are.
Do share your pics of any varied collections.
I snapped these earlier of 687, 564 and 233. Different:
Cases
Hands
Crystals
Functions
Dial colour
Markers
Movements
Then I've added some 'library' pics of a couple of PAMs I have (just not with me) that again have different cases, dials, movements etc. Every one of these watches is distinct from each other. The diver is a 389 and the 'leftie' is a 368.

I've not seen that white dialled model before, it's a good looking watch. Well they all are in fact. We don't seem to see much of Panerai here these days, so thanks for posting the pictures.

That submersible anti megnetic is quite nice, what model is it?
They all look like wall clocks on the wrist to me, but I do think they have more varied designs than many other brands.
Not to mention the Mare Nostrum
And here’s my 190. Lovely collection OP

They may not look 'the same', but there is certainly a very distinctive Panerai house style.
There’s certainly a certain look to panerais so I can see where “they all look the same” comments might come from. That said, I don’t class myself as a fan and don’t know much about them.
On the other hand, I could probably name the vast majority of Rolex models and quickly list the ones I would wish to own. To many people, Rolex watches would look the same.
I guess it just comes down to what we are each more/ less familiar with.
I really want a 722 which is quite different to the usual - steel bracelet and 42mm

Cheers - it's a PAM389 https://www.paneraicentral.com/pam-3...matic-titanio/
Recently superseeded by the thinner PAM1389 https://www.panerai.com/gb/en/collec...matic-tit.html
I personally prefer the thicker case of the 389.
My first Pam, a 42mm 392. Loving it!
Arguably from the 'same' Panerai mould; or is it?
Just to add a few different Panerais into the mix. IMHO they all look vastly different, sizes from 40 to 47mm.

Their design ethos is similar across the models, so I could understand someone saying "they all look the same" if they aren't interested in them, or not paying attention to detail. The same "all" Rolex Subs or DJ's.
Also certain features stand out, in Panerai's case it's the crown guard, Rolex the Cyclops, PP with the Nautilus "wings" AP the Octo-bezel etc. etc.
Sort of do all look the same to me when you see them out and about.
Buts so do a lot of manufacturers watches. Rolex sub or dweller all look the same.
It is only when you have a second look sometimes to what is on some ones wrist can you tell. Watches are not that big after all and waving about on some ones arm does not help the matter.
I can see there is plenty of variation in their models - personally though I've never seen a Panerai I like..
Never thought about it. Until this thread, But now looking at these pictures. I see square cushion cases on nearly everyone. I never see the dial. Just the case? Square.

I can see why people would think all Panerais look the same, but once you get into the brand, you'll notice all the subtle differences.
Currently own a 560, which to me, combines the core key aspects of Panerai, whilst being modern with the in house 8 day movement, plus an added bonus of being one of the last sandwich dials, screw in case back and screw in strap bars.

I suppose no one copies Panerai like they do Subs (think everyone from Heuer to Steinhart) and the case and crown guard are very recognisable.
I have no interest in them whatsoever and don't like their design (the craftsmanship is excellent) but so what, this site needs more threads like this and fewer threads on new Rolexes
"A man of little significance"
I find that something odd is happening to me - I find that my tastes in watches are changing without me realising it! I used to love Diver's watches, but now find them rather ugly and boring, I used to love rather fussy busy dials, but am now finding them, well a bit busy and fussy, and I used to detest Panerai completely! But recently I'm beginning to find some of them quite attractive. Do I need help???
(Fortunately I can't afford Panerai prices, so it may not be a major affliction!).
they all look terrible, so in a way look the same
The odd ones are totally different

I now have a fetish for sandwich dials......
Here's a pic of my three. A 512, 328 and 24, I don't think they look the same!!
Excuse the bad iPhone shot......

Since I did this thread another couple have arrived. Admittedly the 913 from a distance could be see to be similar(ish) to the 233 but I can assure you the only similarity is having a 12 and a 6 on the dial, everything else is different - crystal, movement, hands, back, case shape, case material, the crown protector, the crown, blah blah.
I'm not generally, a fan of the "look", but the centre one in your first pic is quite nice (white face chrono)
And......... the "Submersible" has a kind of pleasing "FiftyFathoms" look.

The Yacht Challenge 654 chrono is outstanding !
I do miss the simplicity of the D series 111 with sausage dial - but that could tempt me back to the Luminor family

I’ve have had several PAM’s, only the small models, 44 and 45mm. Still to big for me. I really like the history, design and some of the movements.
I would love to have a 42mm, but I can’t get over it, buying a watch today and loose several hundreds pounds the day after. I could buy a used one, but still I am not ready to deal with the Panerai value market... sadly.
