No contest root beer
Considering one of these two watches. What is the TZ collective wisdom?
I'm fortunate enough to already have a GMT Master II 16760 so I'm swayed slightly more towards the Daytona. I remember listening to Alice Cooper talking on the radio many years ago about waiting for his turn to come on the waiting list for his Daytona. I'll resist any urge for any heavy eye make-up and macabre staging
I have them both, like them equally but wear the Daytona more.
Root Beer is certainly the cooler choice, but Daytona might get more daily wear?!
Sell the GMT to buy GMT rootbeer, and also get the Daytona
Sorted
I’ve got a soft spot for the root beer. So I’d have to say that.
But maybe the question to ask is which would you wear most? Which fits your daily life better?

Personally I would go for the root beer
I have a 16753 Root beer, I don't have a Daytona.
The simply reason being a) the Daytona comes up a bit small and b) I would never use it's functions.
Also you could get a really really nice Root Beer for the price of a well used SS Daytona. If you really want a Daytona then go tu-tone.
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

Better still, if you want a Daytona, go solid gold. They feel a much superior watch ....hard to imagine, but they really do...and these days, don't cost much more, sometimes less.
To me, £16k for a SS ceramic Daytona is nonsense, £14k for a Rolex serviced gold version with Zenith movement makes a bit more sense in such inflationary times. Both examples came from current dealer lists.
I’m not a fan of the root beer , but also not really a Daytona person either ... but of the two I’d have to say Daytona all the way. Ironically I think the Daytona looks classier on the wrist
I have both and shocked to see how popular the root has become
I wear it now and again think need to wear it this weekend lol

Root beer!

I have never understood this recent fashion for two-tone watches, they look terrible.
On the other hand the steel Daytona is still, probably, the most desirable watch in the world.
Oh well, thanks for the replies.
Went for the vintage GMT again except it's a 1675/3 Rootbeer, one owner since new with 3 trips to Rolex for service. Too dark for photos before anyone asks 😀
Again, thanks for input.

Excellent buy, I have a 1976 1675 RB, great watch and looks far better in the flesh.
Another vote for the RB here as the Daytona is too small for me, although I like them they just don’t look right on my wrist ?!?
The root beer to me seems a rarer beast which I can’t say I have ever seen on a random persons wriat howver I’ve seen hundreds of Daytona’s of all variants in London, Liverpool(probably fake I know🤣🤣 I was born that way so I can say that😉👍🏻) and at shows like Goodwood etc yet in all those places and events I’ve never seen a root beer?!?
Just because no one else has one on their wrist is not a reason in itself to get one as it could just mean it’s crap and no one wants one but for me I prefer having different watches to anyone else?!?

Decided to dig mine out 2006 one!

Root beer is preferable for me, although as you already own a GMT then can see how the Daytona could get the vote.

Thumbs up for the Daytona.
I'd go for the Daytona. This is the type of watch you never sell.
Daytona all day.
Daytona for sure.
