Evening,
It's looking increasing likely that my dad will need to undergo a Laryngectomy. This is obviously a blow to us all and a large, life changing operation. The hospital has said they will put him in touch with someone who has been through it but I thought I'd ask on here if there was anybody who has, or knows some who has, personal experience of the operation and would be willing to meet with my old man.
We're London based but to be honest, distance isn't really an issue.
Thanks
Dave

Dave, wishing your dad the best also.
My BIL is an ENT consultant, if you have any specific questions let me know and I’ll ask him.
Don't have any direct experience, but wishing your dad all the best.
I'm sorry to hear that. In my area the Speech and Language Therapists puts people about to undergo a laryngectomy with people who've had them. It is standard practice in Scotland. Please check with the Speech and Language Therapists or the ENT doctor. It is a very scary thought.
