Very nice. Really like the older Breitling and Heuer chrono's.

Some lovely pieces there, & I noticed the Excelsior Park chrono', very similar to one that was sold here on TZ SC 3 or 4, maybe five years ago!
    Loved the Breitling offerings.
    Thanks for the link.

Many of those price estimates seem a few years out of date... or is that just a tactic by the auction house to get the punters in the door?

It’s been a couple of years since I went to view watches at WOK prior to an auction, but I did just show up and asked to see watches and they were very obliging. The ones I was interested in were not in the best shape, but they had others that were. They also have an app that you can download the brochure in and read offline. They do around 3-4 auctions per year

You can just turn up and supervised touching is possible. They’ve moved offices so viewing will be in a new location for the November auction. I usually pitch up at Friday lunchtime.

No, it doesn’t. Guide is the range where they believe the hammer will fall.
Sellers get hammer less 15%, buyers pay hammer plus 23-24%.

All sounds very very nice indeed for the auction house, just a single item sells for a grand and they gross just under £400 total commission!

Estimates mean very little unless the item is listed as something completely wrong. If the description is right it’ll go for its value (or way above in auctions for some reason)

I’ve seen a few times (even on here) people post links to auctions with low guide prices and starting prices saying “this is cheap”. More likely to gain interest in my opinion and by proxy go for more than it would with a high estimate.

Hi all 👋🏼 just browsing through the catalogue and as much as there's some lovely pieces on there... The estimates are priced very low especially considering the notoriety of the company and its City location.

The estimates are for hammer price; buyer pays 23.5% or thereabouts on top.

Are you sure you aren't getting confused with another company when you speak about their notoriety and their City location? They're based in the West End.

Great catalogue, thanks for posting - I'd love to get hold of a printed copy. I expect the interesting ones with temptingly low estimates will go for a fair bit more though.

PS - just noticed they have an app for viewing this and previous catalogues on tablets / phones: https://watchesofknightsbridge.com/auction-calendar/
