    Bronze Watches

Gentleman. I asked a similar question about titanium a while back, and excuse my ignorance on this but can anyone tell me about bronze watches? One has caught my eye, but I have zero experience of handling, owning etc. Are they heavier? The thing I'm picking up on - and again correct me if I'm wrong, is that they change appearance somewhat and fairly quickly too due to patina of the bronze?

The one that has caught my eye is the Steinhart Ocean One Bronze as am wanting a diver after new year for a holiday and deliberating over what to get. Love the dial design of this with the 3/6/9 and the hand style, just no experience of bronze!

    Any info/advice gratefully received! Cheers.

I'm a fan of bronze watches, and have had 2. The patina process isn't all that quick, and can take months to develop (I prefer to leave it to go naturally, rather than the forced method)

Here's my first (now gone) -

Which was replaced by this (possibly my favourite watch of all I've had) -

Quite fond of my Helson. Had it a few years now but tends to come out when I know I'm going to be swimming in the ocean. All natural patina is the way forward.

Christopher Ward do a bronze version of the Trident, I like it. You can buy it new and patina it yourself or buy it pre-aged.

Ive seen some pics of bronze watches that basically look like it's got mould on it. Not sure whether this is common?!

Also saw a YouTube guy treating his bronze watch with hard boiled egg and vinegar vapour - is this normal behaviour?!

The green colouration is just surface oxidisation I think. I know after swimming in salt water mine will go green in the recesses. Ageing with eggs and vinegar is done by quite a few people as it will quickly develop a surface patina.
