Lovely gesture and I’ll start the bidding with £200.
Good Afternoon all
I was lucky to be fortunate to win the Speedbird in Mr Curta's latest raffle.
I picked the watch up from the post office this morning. Its fantastic and I can see why these are held in such high regard.
However I feel this watch should be used to generate a bit more money for good causes. As such I would like to put it up for auction.
All proceeds will go directly to Eddies fundraiser. The fundraiser helps both Prostate Cancer and Macmillan which are causes close to my heart.
I propose to keep it a simple as possible.
If you wish to participate please place your bid on this thread, the highest bid by 18:00 BST Monday 8th of October 2018 wins.
The winner will pay the money in to the fundraiser, as soon as they let me know they have transferred the funds and I have verified it, I will be in touch to get a delivery address, RMSD postage is on me. I should be able to post mid next week at the latest, I will keep the winner updated at all times.
A photographer I am not but here are a few pictures taken today, the watch will come with the box, spare links, cards and cleaning cloth.
Should you have any questions please feel free to PM me
Thanks in advance for taking part and thank you Eddie for giving this your approval.
Johnathan.
Lovely gesture and I’ll start the bidding with £200.
Fantastic gesture and a great opening bid. Whoever buys it will know that it has helped a great number of people on the way.
Going to try to keep this near the top.
All money will go straight to the fundraiser
Cheers
John
Let’s keep this close to the top
The watch is in fantastic condition.
All money goes to the fundraiser
Cheers John
Thanks for the bids gents!
I will throw in an unused green timefactors NATO to the package.
This has to make the whole package much more tempting now?
I’d like to enquire if any of the past or current owners of this watch have any knowledge re it’s timekeeping accuracy, or if it has ever been serviced? thanks
This watch was mine not so long ago and although rarely worn during my period of custodianship I would say timekeeping was within five seconds. I'm quite fussy about timekeeping. Don't think it's ever been serviced though, certainly not while it was with me. Have been debating whether to buy it back.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Between seikopath and Sinnlover it came out of the case long enough for me to check that it was running well and to take some photographs for the raffle. I didn't have a chance to accurately check the timekeeping before I returned to Colombia but it fully met my expectations. It certainly doesn't appear to have been worn a great deal.
Whilst I haven’t timed it, it seems to be keeping very good time and it’s in very good condition, hardly any marks on it at all.
The winner will not be disappointed.
£236, this would be much more fun if someone else would bid as well.
This ends at 18:00 this evening
So last call for bids.
I can ask the mrs if she will let put a nudie picture of her in the the package if this helps generate a bit more intrest, It seems to work in the readers wife’s part of the forum! (N.B. It may be substituted for a packet of Haribo in the likely event she says no).
Thanks for all the bids so far.
John
I am about to pack it up ready for its new owner.
Stuart is the winner!!!!
I will PM you.
Thank you all for taking part.
I received this excellent watch today. It’s almost in as-new condition. I was very fortunate to get it for a low value, paid to the fundraiser, as well as bonus gifts in the package!
I want to pay respect to John for this most generous act for the charities. Many thanks indeed.
Stuart
Glad it arrived safe and sound and glad you are happy.
It’s a cracker of a watch.
