Been a long wait , but finally collected my grail

Been a long wait , but got the call this week and collected a watch I’ve been waiting for since I first read about it. Had only ever tried on a WG on leather which was stunning. First time I’d seen or handled a blue sky-dweller was this week when I collected it. Great looking watch, I think the blue dial looks better than the previous precious metal versions I’d loved. Feels a lot more balanced on the bracelet than the WG i tried. Seems to wear smaller than my SD43.

Anyway... really chuffed and bonded with it straight away ( this doesn’t always happen) . It’s a keeper and and complements my other keepers .

Congratulations. I do like the blue version and am a fan of the less appreciated sports Rolex.

It’s a fantastic movement... great just playing around with it... although did have a scare this morning when the date hadn’t changed ( bit edgy with dates due to my Tudor gmt ) , but realised I’d got the hour hand 12hours out !

Looks really good, health to enjoy. Interesting to read your comments 're size, a mate has both and he feels the sky wears larger than the sea dweller.

I love my SD43, that’s one watch that’s with me for life ... but it’s a watch That you know you’re wearing . Although the sky-dweller appears to wear slightly bigger diameter, the seadweller sits higher and feels like it has more heft.

Both these 2 are keepers, (along with the Tudor gmt assuming the date issue is fully resolved)

First of, congratulations of the Skydweller, brilliant watch.

Your image is a perfect example of why i think the Skyd wears bigger than the SD43, the dial is that much larger, mine is also the white/silver which i also think give emphasises that impression.

The Skydweller has a larger dial. So is bigger even if cased in a similar size

Congrats. I'm on the list for one and your pictures have reinforced my decision.

I love the blue datejust fluted dial, but keep reminding myself to wait for this to arrive. The Skydweller has that rare added benefit of being a Rolex with a complication and a cleverly delivered one at that.

I have got a bit paranoid about putting on a watch around lunchtime, setting the time and date unaware that the watch thinks it's midnight.

Like most I'm sure, I have a little ritual now that avoids any damage to the date function.

    Congrats!

Never really been into the Sky Dweller but these pictures have turned my head.

The next job will be actually sourcing one with a blue dial from an AD, which I believe is more of a challenge than the 116500.

    Wish me luck...

    This one says hello!

Incidentally, I've also got a SD43 but not worn it yet. How do they compare on the wrist?

Put some pics earlier. Very different watches that I think are the perfect pair. Sd43 wears ‘ heavier ‘ but in a good way , it also has the brillian glide lock clasp which I’d have preferred to be on the sky. The sky seems to sit better on the wrist. Problem now is I can see my blro getting any wrist time

I put my name down the day it was released in March 2017. To be honest I wasn’t expecting one as nearly every dealer I’ve spoken too had either never had a blue one in or maybe only seen one through their doors.

Wow congrats. I hope the supply is slowly building up again as I’m still on the list for one.

Firstly, to the OP, lm really glad that the watch is bringing you such happiness.

What l feel compelled to say, though, is that l think it's something of a shame that, due to supply and waiting lists, people are buying watches that they've not even had the chance to try on.

I suppose it's only the same as buying clothes from a catalogue, but lm not very fond of catalogues - l prefer to go into a clothes shop and actually see myself in the clothes before l buy them.
And, of course, catalogue clothing turns up the day after you've ordered - not months down the line.

Ok... that's that said! Enjoy the skydweller!

Let me know if the Arktis has to find a new home now that you have other blue dialed altenatives.

Congratulations. I love mine and the blue dial is the pick of the bunch.

They seem even rarer than Daytonas. My AD has only ever had one and others I have spoken to have never seen one.

Quite true, however I think it varies amongst ADs. Some will say the Daytona is rarer still. I've still not got mine :(

I would so love one of these. Unfortunately I can't even afford to get on the list! One day...in the meantime, great pics from all the posters. Wear in good health!
