Just got the call - Rolex D-Blue Incoming

Just received a call from my friendly AD, who said the Rolex D-Blue is available for me to collect. Very excited...

Shame its 5 days after the recent price increase, ah well...

There obviously been a decent delivery to all AD’s to coincide with the price increase. I got a call this week too for a different model :)

Coincidence or not? Perhaps the restricted supply was to heighten the demand, then deliver on the demand with higher pricing... Hmmmmm

Nevertheless, its been a piece i have waited for quite some time.

I don’t really see the point of owing something if your not going to use it.

Same here , collected my Pepsi on Wednesday.

Told them I was expecting a call early October because of the price rise, I was assured the watch was delivered on the Tuesday, but they forgot to take off the ticket with 25/09/2018 printed on it.

When I pointed this out it was met with a resigned shrug of the shoulders , no doubt the sales staff are just following instructions, to be fair if it was my business I’d be taking the extra margin as well.

    It's the norm these days.

Beg to be put on the list and when the watch arrives stick it in the safe sell for a nice profit 12 months later when the AD gives you the warranty card.

    Ugh, that’s horrible.

On the bright side, at least you didn’t have to pay £16k from Watchfinder!

What an appalling way to do business!

As far as I'm concerned you should be naming & shaming them...

Sorry, i haven't put up pictures yet, but i will try later... Had a great trip out to London this morning to collect the D-Blue, also there was a new pepsi, which i had a sneaky look at, what a beauty that is! Hopefully next on the list for one..

As per the usual rules, stickers all came off, and the card has been retained, which is fine by me... I must say the new D-Blue sits much better on the wrist than my 2011 Deepsea, the bracelet is different and it is very comfortable to wear.. The dial is superb, love the contrast, I wonder if at Basel Rolex release a bi-colour ceramic bezel, black and blue to go with the dial.. I doubt it, but it would be interesting. :-)

Now to take some pictures and figure out a way to upload those pictures....

Yes, love it.. While I am fortunate to also have a black dial Deepsea, the new design bracelet fits so much better.

Long story short, I have been on the waiting list with an AD where I have purchased before for 3-4 years, but never heard anything! So went to another dealership (in London by the way), who managed to get me the watch within a month. :-) Hoping they can work their magic for a Pepsi and Daytona, wishful thinking maybe.

The bracelet for the newer model is slightly wider, and lugs slightly different to the earlier model. These help with distributing the weight of the watch, i don't think the difference is that significant, but it is noticeable..

Actually, i'm wearing my earlier model Deepsea today (its my daily) and it doesn't feel that significant a difference... Just an observation.

I don't like being lied to, so with all the dignity I could muster, I'd have told them to shove the watch up their ar$e.

Then they ring the next person on the list , so they don’t lose out.

Only one loser for doing that.

Still a totally unethical way to do business, I agree that they should be named.
