Very classy, but then Zenith tend to be under-estimated, I think.
Both with the classic El Primero movement. That very pretty Elite Classic with the brown dial is part of an attractive range, alongside the 38mm chronos. Such great watches.
And you can always get good prices. Zenith is, alongside Rolex, probably my favourite brand.

Love the older Zenith Dave! They go together well.

Peter - I just tried the Elite Chronograph on, gorgeous watch and very tempting as it was on sale at my local Fraser Hart.

    Very nice indeed, my favourite brand, here are my two;

    The much loved Zenith Doublematic

....And the un-loved (but not by me) Zenith Defy Xtreme 1000m Chrono

Zenith make some really nice stuff and I think their movements are underrated. Years ago I knew a watch collector and watchmaker in Cheshire who'd built a collection after making money in insurance. His collection was bonkers. 10s of pre 1970s JlCs PPs and VCs but his daily wearer was a yellow gold Zenith from the early 60s because it was a fantastic watch but for whatever reason wasn't actually worth a great deal.

This is a timely thread for me as I'm considering adding a 1969 El Primero tricolor to my small collection.

There doesn't appear to be many pre-owned examples about.
Would anybody know where best to look please and is the 38mm size the one to go for?
Obviously, it depends on wrist size, but the thin bezel and long lugs suggests to me that these wear very large.

    Thanks

    Don't be fooled by 'wrist-shots'.
Usually they distort the image by being cropped or taken too close to show off the watch detail.

Wow! I only have the one Zenith at the moment pictured below but after seeing some of these superb examples, I'll be taking a closer look at some of the new stuff they are releasing.

I have a 38mm el primero and a 39mm explorer and the el primero wears a lot better in my opinion, maybe because the explorer is time only whereas the sub dials on the zenith make it seem better proportioned

I may be wrong, but did you by any chance own a Charles Vermont limited edition which was later sold?

That was also a beautiful piece, by the time that I was ready to make an offer it was too late.

Lovely Pilot, may have to look at these again. I have owned a Defy Classic HMS, now that was a brute of a watch.....but almost zero lume and the butterfly clasp was a pain.

My Elite 670, massively underrated dress watch in my opinion. Beautiful and very thin
