Who's first to identify this lad?

I stumbled upon this photo a few minutes ago and thought I would make this 'middle of the night' challenge (if you can call it that!). As I notice this young fellow's bold and dashing spirit, it really is no challenge at all, is it?

Who's first to identify this lad?

It can only be a young pacifichrono at a fancy dress party.

    What do I win?

You're close...but in 1895 I was already too old for the military!

I can thoroughly recommend Roy Jenkin's biography of Churchill.

Churchill, if you get a chance visit the museum in Woodstock it’s superb.

Story’s of Winston and better still the Ox and Bucks light infantry from Waterloo where they saved the line to Pegasus bridge where they held the line, one of The best regiments ever.

Developed quite a new view of Winston after listening to Ray Harris Jr’s excellent WW2 podcast…. He does quite a lengthy biography on Churchill and he’s a fascinating character…. There’s a lot more behind some of the aspects of his legacy that are often criticized I.e. Gallipoli and sending in the army against Welsh minors.... he was actually a lot more progressive in his views than I have him credit for…. A truly amazing man and leader…
