No lists. Just buy it when it eventually goes on sale.

14.5mm thick is perfectly acceptable for a watch with 1000m of water resistance, and 1000m of water resistance is necessary for a homage to the Caribbean 1000.

Whatever the historical precedent established by Ollech & Wajs in printing 3300 fts on their dial, the plural of ft is ft and the plural of foot is feet. The case back should correctly read 3300 feet and not 3300 feets. The latter is simply incorrect grammar by any stretch of the imagination. It is amusing perhaps to stick with fts on the dial as a nod to the original but if it were me (and yes, I know it's not), I'd ask for 3300 ft.

    ^^^ Nice ideas.

I must say that orange bezel on blue dial, orange on yellow, and blue on orange all appeal to me here.

But I find it difficult to visualise how they would really look in the metal.

What colour options were available on the original ?

Bottom rights on those two mock ups are the only ones that look good to me.

Doxa Sub 1200t is 14,4mm thick with almost flat crystal. Here we have domed crystal (I assume that the thickness is measured with a crystal), so thickness of 14,5mm would be really ok, and below 14mm - perfect.

I'm a bit disappointed the silver dialed version hasn't made the cut. That was the one colour I was certain I'd buy, now I'm torn between black yellow and orange!

    Or blue.....

Versions A, B & F work for me. I'd be happy with any of them. If it comes in under 14.5 mm thick, that will remove my only remaining concern. Ok, I'd preter "ft" and not "fts" on dial text but, whatever. Not a deal breaker, either way.

Glad to see this is happening. Too bad about the silver dial, though. Maybe Doxa can hit me up with a silver 200. Not real thrilled with what they've done with the bezels on the 200, though. Guess I will have to wait and see what the silver dial looks like once real pics are out. But it looks to me like this Caribbean is going to be the better looking watch.

There's only versions A-E on Eddie's preview. Version C is a silver dial. Where are you getting F from?

Either way, even if keeping with tradition I still struggle to understand this adhering to a certain specification
(1000m resulting in an ungainly watch) when the watch is worthless as a divers watch due to the lack of divers bezel

They sold an awful lot as diver's watches in the late 1960s, which might explain why the originals are highly collectible and demand such high prices.

I get what you mean, I think you may have your work cut out deciding dial bezel combinations, as for me I'll probably go for a yellow dial variant.

    Caribbean

Great to hear its progressing though I too really liked the traditional silver dial version ... and must be the only one who doesn't like the blue/yellow combination - I wonder how many people actually buy a yellow dialled watch... I'd be willing to bet the trad silver would actually sell more than both yellows combined. Wasn't sure if I liked the black indices and hands on the yellow and orange dials but more I think about it they may well break up the bright yellow and orange of these watches pretty well - can't wait to see pics of the real life prototypes! Black dial for me then for sure, though the mocked up combinations were interesting ! Was it Crepas that reissued the Omega 'Banana' homage with the option to buy a set of different dials? And Jenny went with orange and yellow bezel inserts on their latest Caribbean 300 though that watch was on the large side for me - not as nice as the Smiths renders at all.

I was skeptical about yellow-dialed watches, but now have two. A Seiko SKXA35 and a Scurfa Diver One. Really a great color dial for a summer/beach/fishing watch.

Silver is more versatile, and would have been my fist choice. But now it seems I'm gong to be chasing the Doxa 200 in silver, so I could splurge and get a yellow or blue Caribbean from Eddie. Not that I'd mind the black either. But that yellow the blue bezel could be areal stunner.

I would only go with black hands and indices borders if the dial is going to be a flat or gloss bright yellow. If, as it seems, it is going to be some sort of sunburst or metallic dial, then I think silver, brushed or bright, is the way to go.

Will all the colours be presented in the prototypes, or is it more a matter of approving the case design?

It’s weird I’ve always glossed over this watch and suddenly bam the want hits. If the Adelphi lands before this it’ll be tough to conceal the expenditure from the wife as the want is large for both.

At the rate the variations are multiplying in the renders, you'll be able to get the full set, one to commemorate each year.

Looking forward to seeing the prototypes later this month. I'm souring a bit on the silver Doxa 200. The bright hands on the silver dial are a bit too washed - out. Maybe you were right, Eddie, to drop the silver dial. And the Doxa Caribbean blue dialed version - I'm not feeling it. I think it's going to be just the Smith's Caribbean for me, black, blue or yellow/blue bezel.
