    AJ fight this evening

Anyone else watch the fight this evening? Really impressive performance, looked a little in trouble early on but showed real maturity. Took his time and then when he found an opening just savaged Povetkin in one of the best finishes I have seen for a long while.

    Superb fight!

    Good fight............

I think the ref could or should! have stopped it a few punches earlier.

    AJ fight this evening

In trouble in the first couple of rounds. Got stronger with ever round. Set the trap in 5 and 6 on one side and went for it on the other side in 7 when it opened up. For someone who hasn’t been stopped in 33 he was dispatched. Fair play for get up as well.

Not sure I’d agree with that. He counted him in, asked him to raise his guard and walk forward. He’d earned that especially with his record.

AJ showed maturity in his approach. Yes, he got tagged but he'll take experience from this fight.

Do I think he's vulnerable at times? Yes.

Do I think his guard is too low? Yes.

I guess these chinks in his armour make for an entertaining fight though.

It was a great fight, the atmosphere was electric. I think AJ set out to prove a point. He wanted to show his boxing chops and maturity but also his ruthless side. I think he showed all of that plus more.
After watching him work last night, I do think Wilder will suck him now.

I enjoyed the fight, but AJs left was far too low for too longer periods. It's not a huge problem when fighting a much smaller guy, but he'll have to rectify that, and I'm sure he will when he's up against either Wilder or Furry.

In the previous fight, did Yvan Mendy really think that he had done enough to win that fight? I had it 118-110. 117-111 at best.

I hope that's an autocorrection :-). Was it intended to be "duck"?

That was really odd, they can’t have thought he won....... Maybe they thought they could sway the judges if they committed enough??

As long as you don’t mean ‘Suck’ then I would agree! Maybe use it as a big payday retirement fight at some point?

Think Wider has to get past Fury first, something I personally believe he won't manage.

Interesting to see what shape Fury turns up in. And if the fight actually happens. If they do fight in December I cannot see either of the two fighting AJ 4 months later. They will want more time.

I had the fight even until that point. Brutal finish from Joshua. He's very powerful but also flawed - I think Wilder will fancy getting through against AJ with a Haymaker as Joshua is definitely hittable

I agree that Wilder can’t even walk in Fury’s shadow when it comes to boxing. But wilder does t have to worry about Fury’s power so will walk him down relentlessly. Can fury avoid that right hand for 12 rounds? I hope so

Be an interesting fight, Fury is a very underrated boxer and a very clever boxer.

Fury for me though if he can get back to his best against Wilder and AJ.

We shall see but some great fights to look forward to.
