    Whitby accommodation recommendations.

Looking to visit Whitby for a weekend at the beginning of June and wondered if anyone had any recommendations for accommodation? It will be myself, wife 7 year old boy and dog.

Any advice of leads welcomed. Thanks

I've never stayed in Whitby itself, but I've stayed at the Raithwaite Sandsend and would highly recommend it, it has everything you could want and within walking distance of Whitby.

Again not in the town but not too far away is https://howe-end.co.uk, a friend with young family has stayed there and rated that.

Alex (Watches of Whitby) rates https://sneatoncastle.co.uk

I also do some freelance work for Mulgrave, their estate has loads of self-catering cottages just north of the Town. https://mulgrave-estate.co.uk/cottages/

We always stay at the Angel which is a Witherspoons but only for a couple of nights. Last year we could not find any central hotels but we did find a Air B&B. There are plenty of them about if you do a search.

We stayed at the Swinton Estate, it's a great place for a weekend but about 40 minutes from Whitby

    Whitby accommodation recommendations.

We’ve stayed at the Duke of York a few times which is located at the bottom of the 200 steps up to the Abbey. It’s also two doors up from Watches of Whitby.

Family size rooms available and they accept dogs which if I remember correctly added to the night rate. They do decent pub food and the breakfast was good. There’s a small beach two minutes away that is the one that lets dogs on.

Only downside is no parking but there is a long stay car park which is a five minute walk away.

We’ve stayed in a couple of what I would call traditional B&B’s on the other side of the estuary that weren’t as good.

    Love Whitby.

A month back we stayed at our Friends place at Larpool viaduct.A short and very easy walk over the viaduct into Whitby. We walked in and taxied back.
Look on google maps "Larpool viaduct" and you will see the houses.Theirs is privately owned at the very bottom. But most you see are available to rent.....great location.Swimming pool too at the top for use with those at the top of the hill at Captain Cooks Haven.

Before I settled down Whitby was a favourite place for a night or two, after numerous nights in both good, and not so good accommodation I found this place...

And only a very short ''stretch of the legs'', into the center.

Stayed there as well, lovely place but car parking can be a pain as the car park is tiny and fills up quickly.
