Never really listened to their stuff but saw a documentary a few months ago about them and it seems they were universally liked and extremely well respected as musicians.
No words really.

Sad news ,probably never got the recognition they deserved as artists

I having a Chas and Dave sing-a-long at work this morning.
Amaising how they got the players names to rhyme in those old Tottenham songs.
Chas & Dave are vastly underrated imho, they’ve played with some greats when they were jobbing session musicians in the 70’s.
Here’s their most famous track you may not associate with them...
Chas on guitar Dave on the base.
I only saw them once.....supporting Led Zeppelin at Knebworth!🤣 RIP Chas

I remember Albert Lee saying how good Chas Hodges was when they were in Heads, Hands and Feet together.
From Chas' obit in the Guardian.
"Expelled from school at 15, he was briefly apprenticed to a watch and clockmaker, but was dismissed for lateness."
Very sad news.
Read this, Chas wasn't just half of a novelty act. He performed with
- The Beatles
- Bill Haley
- Jerry Lee Lewis
- Gene Vincent
- Joe Meek
- Richie Blackmore
- Labi Siffre
- and was sampled by Eminem
Oh and Glenn Hoddle and Ossie.....
Gotta respect the guy. A genuine loss.
