My Seiko Turtle STO arrived today. It's a lovely dial but I'm not keen on black case parts (bezel & crown) or the two tone blue insert. It doesn't match the actual blue colour of the dial. (Well, thats my opinion of course).
I bought in the parts to modify it.
First was a 3mm domed sapphire with blue AR coating. Yes, the chapter ring was misaligned as usual so that was sorted. A steel crown was then fitted. The dial is one third black so I sat an SKX007 insert on top of the original insert to try and judge the overall look. I liked it so a complete bezel off a 777 Turtle was fitted and the dial now pops as it should. I'm much more happy now.
The dial and hands are interesting. All three hands have a matt silver finish and the hour marker surrounds have the same finish. The area in the middle of the "12" marker is polished. Nice touches.
This is the first modern Turtle I've owned with perfectly matching lume on the dial and hands. At last!

That issue has caused me problems with some strap purchases via Cousins.

iguanasell_es on eBay. £325 posted from Spain but it is by DHL and it's fast.
A second hand one just sold on eBay at not much less!

Just go on to eBay and search for Seiko Save The Ocean. Saying that, I think iguansell are now sold out of the Turtle STO.
