    Vintage watch

Hi, A quick read for this evening.. I have been to see a friend's vintage watch collection, he was handed these from his Dad who sadly passed recently.

The watches date mainly from the late 50s through to the 70s from a beautiful gold rotary hand wind with original case and guarantee to a stunning citizen quartz. With a very early 1900s solid silver pocket watch in there too.!

I am truly amazed how mesmerising and stunning the watches are, with a few turns of the crown they tick into life with a charm and character new watches simply don't have.

I must admit I have never looked for or even handled vintage hand wind watches before but they really do have a charm about them. I will definitely be adding one in the future.

I will of course get some photos soon and upload for your viewing pleasure..

    Thanks for reading 👍

Cool thread, I love vintage watches and I have a fair few I was given and have been handed down, find them fascinating and a real joy to handle.

If any one can shed any light/knowledge on these that would be great, I've found the rotary mens are from late 50s early 60s and the hunter style pocket watch is around 1920, the citizen quartz is 70s not sure if this still works but all the older hand winds still tick when wound! Amazing for 60 year old watches. Thanks in advance👍

The Maximus range from Rotary were decent quality. Your one looks very nice. Any pics of the back as to me it looks solid gold.

    Cheers

What age classes a watch as vintage?

Thanks, he's going to take them to see a couple of watch dealers to see what they offer, I'll ask for first refusal, I've grown quite fond of that one in particular, would be nice as a special occasion watch 👍

My guess would be anything more than 20-25 years old?! I stand to be corrected though...
