Saw them on Dragons Den, think they got the biggest ever investment. Still on BBC iPlayer if interested (~2 weeks ago?).

I was gobsmacked at the amount they got and the fact that the dragons all (from memory) wanted it so much. It's a glorified price comparison site.

    Shows how much I know!

How hard is it to do it yourself (and often get some kind of cashback from cashback sites or referral)?

    Just be aware:
Will you always get me the best deal?
Our aim is to keep you on a fair deal forever.

That may not mean the very cheapest, that’s because we want to make sure we work with suppliers who value their customers and are committed to improving their customer service.

I guess it boils down to whether you trust someone else to strike the right balance. I like to make the decisions myself, given that I usually change every year.

When you use a switching site and input your details about the deal you have fixed or whatever, the system just introduces you to another over priced deal but £200 per year cheaper, still overpriced, but you think you’ve nailed it.

Input your yearly usage ?ph on the providers site and you get a more realistic price, check standing charges as well.

I don’t use switching sites as they are just one big con.

    Be aware.

We signed up to it,they switched us to the cheapest provider, the one we were already using!,but instead of the same monthly fees we were paying to actually cover the yearly bill and use of the gas and electric they had us paying £70 a month less!,so yes lower monthly bill, only to end up owing a lot at the end of the year!.
We emailed them to ask why this was, only to be told they were too busy to give a full explanation as they had been inundated with people following the dragons den prog!,they cancelled the switch and we cancelled with them too.
