Skating away on the thin ice of a new day
I don’t think our paths crossed but 56 is too young to be taken. Unfortunately, my more distant family suffered a similar loss to the same vile disease just this morning. She was only 10. All very sad.

I was aware of Karl's situation and last spoke with him a week ago, despite him knowing his death was imminent he was quite calm and accepting about it, as he had been throughout his illness.
I will miss him.

I lost my bro in law to an inoperable brain tumour 11 years ago, a fit and healthy 48yr old and gone a year later. Much like Karl he maintained his dignity and humour for most of that year. I’m in constant awe at how people do this, I’m not sure I’d cope so well myself.
