A better way to wear a NATO

Sorry if covered before, but I don't like to see the strap tuck or have the extra bulk of the completely unnecessary 2nd layer of fabric under the watch, so I just trim that off & fit the strap so the buckle & strap fold is under my wrist as below.

I do this now thanks to Mr Tims although I haven't yet trimmed off the extra bit of fabric. Looks much better than the way I always wore NATOs before.

For the gent who doesn't care for bulk and tucking, then Haveston with their sliding keeper provide a solution. They've got some nice canvas out too. I have to admit I was sceptical when they abandoned the "extra bit" in favour of what they call their "single pass" layout, but I have one of each and I like them equally.

For me part of the look is that folded back strap.. Once you wear it in it sits there quite tidily I find.

Perhaps, but I don't own an Omega so don't need the signed buckle, or the extortionate price. Regardless of that, the Havestons are very well made and it's easy to get a good fit with them, with a flat profile and no bulking.
