    40th Birthday coming up.

Want a watch to treat myself. My budget is 10k and want something as an investment but also enjoy. Please can you recommend something, I'm looking at Rolex GMT but im open to anything really. 116713LN is one I have my eye on but not sure of availability.

    Need you help TZ

    Please

Does it have to be GMT and what do you have already?

No, im open to anything really. I own very little at the min as I sold my collection last year to do a little travelling. I just need some inspiration on what to get. I might wait for something at Rolex but I hate the customer service in their stores. They don't take you seriously and lose interest if you ask about models that are not available. Thats my impression anyhow, unless I can be pointed in the right direction.

For 10k I’d be thinking about a date just/oyster perpetual and a sub.

Or what about something a little more obscure

Have you thought about JLC? only thing is I’ve seen a lot of bad things from there SC.

From experiance a 116713 is a good idea at the time but they do lose the appeal after a while.

While I'm a fan of the rolex two tone I noted you mentioned investment in your first post. From my experience the two tones tend to take a much larger hit than ss models! Might not be an issue to you but if investment is an equal purpose I would suggest getting on a list for an SS Sub or the like.

It's just a limited market if you decide to sell the watch.

I also found that my 116713 attracted a lot more attention and comments from people.

Really tough to buy for investment. Hard to know what the market will do, but surely the SS rolex sports models are the way to go if you don't want to lose on it.
The TT you mention is beautiful, and also something I have been looking at. TT sub is another option you may be interested in. These are easier to get than the SS, so that may be a factor too.

A reverso Tribute in any configuration that suits your style/budget (not a great investment though)

    Rolex 16700 GMT

For a special birthday Watch I would be looking at a used white gold calatrava. If you are after a tool watch any stainless steel sports should hold your money.
