    What’s your favourite colour dial?

I’ve always assumed that most people prefer a black dial over others, no idea why I think that. I’ve come to the conclusion that if I could only have 1 watch I’d pick a white dial though I’ve always thought blue.

White (silver) for a dressy watch. Black or blue for a sporty watch. If only one, black is more versatile.

It very much depends on the watch for me.

I am a sucker for a blue dial watch though. I think my heart is set on a blue Pelagos next.

Black dial mainly for sports watches, but blue is nice for variety. For dress watches, I prefer silver dials. My guess would be that it's to do with legibility. Dive watches, and pilots watches with generally more lume benefit from the high contrast of light coloured lumed hands and indexes against a dark dial, whereas dress watches often have black, plain gold or steel unlumed hands that need a lighter dial to be read more easily. Probably oversimplifying it....

Orange, but blue and black are also nice. Like a bit of colour somewhere....

Silver and black generally... never been one for white dialled watches (as a rule).

There are some special colours out there it has to be said, the peacock green on an LE Grand Seiko, and the brown on the Zenith 146 spring to mind.

Favourite would be blue, but I do like a white or yellow dial a lot.

I thought it was black - then one day I noticed half my watches had white dials. White kind of crept up on me !

Prefer off-white to stark white. The green of the Seiko Alpinist is a thing of beauty, though. Black dials are boring.

Black for me. All my watches bar one have a black dial. The one that doesn’t is a dark grey.

Blue dials, white dials. Despite this my two favourite watches have black dials.

    Black, grey, white or silver.

Blue dials have attracted me in the past but I always found them difficult to match and I never kept them for long so now I avoid them.

Funnily enough, I’m always wearing blue so don’t have that problem.

Definitely black. Also have blue and grey at the moment. I do like silver and beige though. Haven't had a white dial for a number of years.

    White/Silver dials for smart/dressy watches
Black or blue dials for casual/sports

I'm a sucker for sunburst dials personally.

Can't really go wrong with a deep black but I remember my dad had a tag professional 2000 with a deep blue speckled dial which was really rather lovely!

I’m very partial to a black dial; for the last 15 years I’ve been wearing a GMT-II daily and I think it’s a pleasing dial.

I was looking at a pilot inspired watch recently and black dialed Sinn, Damasko and the like were the top contenders until I tried on an IWC Le Petit Prince Chrono. All the various Le Petit Prince models have a deep blue dial that catches the light really well.

All that said, I think dressier watches look great with silver or white/off-white dials.

I also think the same colour - whatever it may be - can look very different on different size and style watches, there’s no right answer.

I’m still to be convinced that things like the brightly coloured Seiko monsters, Breitlings or Doxas et cetera are my taste, but they’re fun and each to their own :)

    Black.
    Then red, green, grey.
    Then maybe some quirky ones.
    Never really dug blue.
    White ends the list.

Black for me though I must say my 2004 TT sub had a wonderful blue dial.

Most of mine are black, but I do love a blue dial (except when 'people' add brown to it! ), so it got my vote.

I like yellow in photos, but never get on with them in person and I don't like orange at all.

White isn't a favourite either, I prefer silver over white. Not mad on Brown usually either, although I do have one, which I quite like.

Probably my favourite is blue or partially blue such as the deep sea deal blue. For me though, a selection of different dial colours in the collection at any one time is needed and will always include a black and a white dial and sometimes nice to have a yellow one

Cream or custard dials for me. The Bremont one looks nice but it’s too expensive for what it is. Maybe a GS, they look good.
