As my office's designated Official Watch Nerd I occasionally get asked for advice - and today I am stumped. Colleague has a TAG with the Cal 1887 chronograph movement - the watch has been dropped and since then has been losing time at a heroic rate. Is there an independent service option? Given the 1887 is (as I understand it) an in-house adaptation of an older (6S?) Seiko movement I'm guessing the answer is "send it back to LVMH" but before I direct my colleague down that route I thought I'd ask the assembled experts.

Initially, looking at the dial layout I hoped it was a 7750 - this of course is a consequence of the expansion of in-house movements: fewer independents able to service or repair them, so higher cost for the owner and a nice, predictable revenue stream for the manufacturer...
