Never mind Naples.
See Retford & die.
Following on from the recent great advice regarding destinations such as Paris, St Petersburg, Las Vagas and New York I'm looking for tips for a flying visit to Retford tomorrow.
20 minutes free as wife and I will be in Worksop and have to pick up the mutt from kennels at around 5pm so my plan was to take a dump then go into town for an explore.
I've never been before and other than the gaudi buildings/and market I don't really have any plans.
I would love to hear any tips of places to go/see. My wife is as easily placated by a bacon sarnie though I'm partial to bacon and mushrooms...
Btw, Worksop is a dump I have not heard a single good word about the place, everywhere children being scolded for not eating their McD's and Gainsborough isn't much better either.
Would be great to hear of other peoples experiences of modern progressive towns of these sceptred isles.

a pint at the springhead then poop over the side of the canal bridge.
Stare at your watch for 20 mins until you find a flaw? I always find this a good standby activity.
I’m impressed that you are planning your dump in advance. Next level planning that.
Food used to be reasonable here http://www.whitehousesretford.co.uk/
Im a few miles out of town. In 20 minutes you may just about get your car parked. The town centre is a typical market town with market square, a few banks and chain stores....thats about it really. I generally only go there for a hair cut or to pick up a take away. There are a few nice places to eat if you had time.
You could go to the museum I guess :)

YMMV, naturally.
