There won’t be many models that are cheaper now than they were 10 years ago.
We all like to hedge our bets and grossly dislike loosing money..
My quandary or question is I would like a Rolex looking forward to a early retirement age of 55{will still need to work/occupy my time} currently I am 51.
Like many on here I do like the SUB DATE 116610LN or SUB NO DATE 114060 or OYSTERSTEEL 114060,but with that one I am torn between the shading of dial. I have been following many of the threads on waiting lists and the withheld warranty cards. Is it the general rule of thumb that most of the Range of Rolex is a waiting list..again this drives the prices up. I do get the impression that it is also down to customer contact{ you as the perspective buyer keeping regular contact with your AD}. The AD has an item that sells..so doesnt have make the effort, its down to you to let him/she/they know you still want the watch you are chasing. My experience with my AD..purchased an Omega seamaster in 2017, when the TUDOR HERITAGE BB 58 was muted I went in and asked to put my name on a list, popped in twice to say Hi and ask for any updates.. did get a phone call when one became available, but I was in London for a week working 12 hour shifts{end of July/beginning Aug}..so I had to pass..popped back in Friday 17th AUG..got a phone call 2 hours later, the rest is history
So as a new member here, asking for some inspiration from any of the experienced watch guru's looking back over 10 years which of the Rolex range has increased..I think we all know the SUB range prices have/will rise.
Also I must add..I like the watch I want..not just by owning or flipping..It will be worn
I hope I have not confused anybody rambling on...LOL
If their is a thread already up and running please could you point me in the direction
Thanks in advance
Ernie

Ticker..
thanks for that in simple terms.. bang on, I think I should of asked which Rolex has the longest wait.. Ally kindly updated me..Also as I said i have read so much info on here you can sometimes be skewed away from what you really want or like{if that makes sense}
cheers

White Daytona
Black Daytona
Pepsi
Blue skydweller
Hulk
Deep Sea Blue
Black Skydweller
White Skydweller
BLNR
Date Sub
Non date sub
Datejusts
As a random guess I’d say that’s the order of difficulty getting them long term and also long term values as well.
The Sub or Date sub should be readily available to you within 6 months or so. Neither will loose money but without a magic wand I would estimate they would keep pace with inflation.
The date just, if you want a specific dial that is not in stock at AD will need ordering and 3 months I would think. Probably will loose a little money initially and hold its current value long term rather than increasing.
ernie, if you fancy a gamble on future values, how about some Tesla shares, or even some Bitcoin ?
What could go wrong.
Henk..I am sorry..I did ask if this had been done before and on here , as I am new to this I asked if I could be directed to the relevant thread..admittedly I should of asked which was the model with the longest waiting list..this would have answered both of my queries.
Thanks
Ernie
Just get a white dial SS Daytona. It's easy to get if you know how. Best approach is to be at the AD at 3.07pm, always with a yellow canary on your left shoulder (must be left shoulder and canary not bigger than 16.5 cms). Head boldly into the AD, ask to see the manager and utter the phrase 'fiddle me dee, fiddle me dum, for a Daytona I have come'.
This magical incantation will guarantee a Daytona there and then PLUS you keep the stickers and warranty card. Job done!
+1. Excellent advise
Ernie, work it out yourself and do not be a lazy bugger.
you can't be so simplistic op...yes for a ceramic daytona the waiting list drives the price up. For a comex it does not. However your question is non the less relevant. And in both instances rolex effectively prevent you achieving your goal. Just get it wear it enjoy it.
Wouldn't it be great if everyone suddenly feel out of love with Rolex, those of us that simply wanted a particular model to wear could buy it
