im not sure looks like its been done with 600 hundreds wet and dry...give me an omega liquid metal any day...however clever the snowflake effect is...which it is...just not my eye for a dial...back to the drawing board for me.

Majestic! Both the watch and the pics...

Seems to me that several GS dials are waiting for your magic :)

Probably Grand Seiko’s finest creation, seeing those pictures are really making me regret selling mine....

    Stunning pics

I would love to use some as desktop wallpapers but the aspect ratio is wrong for me, any chance of 16:9?

I adore everything about this Watch apart from the power reserve.

Incredible pics, of a magnificent watch. I just prefer the old Seiko Grand Seiko branding, I felt it made the dial more balanced.

Photographs rarely accomplish showing off the level of finishing that GS achieve, not so in this instance.

Interesting to see that the hour markers don't have fine ridges cut into the top surface so as to provide a contrast to the sides. I know both my SBGX063 and SBGA003 have, I thought all GS with baton style markers were the same.

Big fan of these. The second hand really pops in these pictures.

The only thing that lets it down, for me at least, is the bracelet. Lacks the delicacy and subtlety of the dial.

The snowflake is a stunning watch, truly beautiful and your photography does it more than justice. I have been looking at photos of the snowflake and the version Grand Seiko did with the gold hands, the latter ruins the design imho.

Great photos. The problem is that the watch does look better in photos and whilst undoubtedly a very nice watch and dial, it is difficult to appreciate it as much on the wrist as you are not looking at it in the perfect lighting conditions and with the right camera lens

I have deliberately reinforced the effect of the dial.

I would disagree, all you need to do is angle the wrist and the dial glows and indices are reflected, just like in the photos. I would actually say it's one of the watches which does look like its photos.

That’s only my experience from owning it and selling after a few months....

As Jocke says, the effect of the dial in these photos has been deliberately reinforced

Yup the texture is highlighted by the lighting in these photos. In other ones though I'd say it's pretty faithful!

You can get the effect whilst wearing it if you go to a place with the right light and turn your wrist and don’t move. However, in every day wearing, it is not as noticeable and therefore the detail is lost during the majority of the wearing experience.

Thanks for this Jocke, it reminded me that I need to have a Grand Seiko Snowflake back in the collection.
