Oris Staghorn strap changing screwdriver size!

    Good morning all.

I have an Oris Staghorn L.E. It requires a "special tri-wing" screwdriver, to enable one to change the strap over.(I want to take the rubber strap off, and put the bracelet on).

Ive contacted Oris, they say , I can order one for.........£40!!! With a 4 weeks waiting time!

Does anybody know the "size" of tri-wing screwdriver I will need? I bought a pack of 4 from Amazon...but none of them fitted!

Ive asked Oris for the size of them...but no reply ! for then to sort it out!

I "assume" WOS or Goldsmiths etc would have the correct sized screwdriver if I was to take it to them?!

    Many thanks.

Here is a quick pic of it.

Just had a reply from UK Oris service centre..

" Its not something that’s available on the open market. It is a specially manufactured screwdriver with a three blade head.

    Kind regards

    .
Call me a doubting Thomas...Im pretty sure Oris cant be the only people in the world, making/supplying these size tri-wing screws and screwdrivers!

Not sure what size this is, but modifying it by removing the point might work?

Take it to the AD, flutter your eye lashes and ask them to swap the strap for you.

That's the sort of thing I was going to suggest. However on a different note, for Oris to do this utterly smacks of protectionism and greed.

I had a look online to see if I could find out the "size".

Apparently , some people have suggested Nintendo sized screw-drivers, but they arent the correct size!

Ive just sent an e-mail off to Oris, saying I would probably need some extra "screws" form them....as they are the only people in the world who make them!

I wouldnt mind, if it cost say... a tenner or something....but they want £33.65 for the thing...... and!a whopping £6.95 postage!

(on the plus side.....it is a cracking looking watch!).
