Recommend me a halal restaurant in Manchester for lunch...

I'm after a little help, please. I want to meet some Pakistani friends for lunch in Manchester city centre and want to go somewhere a bit swanky with them. It doesn't have to be "indian" food but does need to be halal, so say Lebanese or Turkish would be fine. I'd like somewhere where the food and the surroundings/service are on a par, as I know some great places for food but the decor is a bit meh. Any suggestions?

Comptoir. Not far from the Armani/RBS building. Ticks the box on Lebanese.

Also Scene. Which is a curry house. Both highly recommend, both fit for entertaining clients, work colleagues etc.

Had a visit at both over the last month or so around lunch times. Great hospitality at both.

Both are central Manchester btw. Apologies forgot to add in previous note. Both halal. And both with excellent food.

Lots of Indian in town - Scene and East z East both nice. Rosso is a nice Italian.

Comptoir is really good! I've never been to the Manchester branch but I assume they're all the same.

Rump n Ribs is my favourite place in Manchester, but I'm not too sure if their lunch menu is the same as the evening menu, also they're not in town

Unfortunately, East Z East doesn't open for lunch but I'll check Scene out.

Why dont you find out which ones are and help the OP, rather assuming.

If you're going to give up a few minutes of your time, make it worthwhile, you'll regret it on your deathbed if you don't

OP, I don't know any, sorry.

OP asked for 'swanky' halal joints and you recommend Subway. Are you are moron...?

You'd best pop into your local branch and check Ally.

'Some Subway chains exclusively use halal meat. The ones which do contain labelling across the store to show that they are halal. A total of 202 stores in the UK serve halal meat, out of 2,000 – equating to about 1 in 10.

Yes. He is a moron, and should have been banned months ago but unfortunately still sticks around like a bad smell despite everyone telling him to do one. Ignore the idiot troll.

    Vermillion near the Etihad .
A bit out of the centre but worth the short trip .
    Excellent food, very plush .
Or I can recommend a £5 curry shop inThe Northern Quarter if you like.

Mowgli in the Corn Exchange is Halal (except the dishes with alcohol in them). Nice decor and surroundings with a casual vibe.

Akbar’s is good too and that’s also Halal.

Plenty to go at in Manchester :)

Went there a few months ago. Think it was a Saturday night. Very strange place; very dark and unlike any restaurant I’d ever been to. The meal was ok - nothing special - but the service was shocking. We were on the verge of leaving a couple of times we got so fed up being promised our food and having to keep asking.

Might have to give that a go.

I'd suggest Asha's if you want swanky halal https://ashasmanchester.co.uk/

Excellent service and great food. Decor's a bit mental but in a sort of plush kitsch way.

I haven't been to the Manchester one but I can vouch for Asha's having eaten in one of their's in Kuwait. Fantastic venue overlooking the sea. If the same quality of food exists in the Manchester restaurant you won't be dissappointed.
