    19mm lugs. Should I go 18 or 20

Basically as per title. Taking delivery shortly of a 19mm lug width watch. Don’t have any 19mm natos. Should I dig into my strap box and fit an 18 or a 20? Is a 1mm gap visible or is a 1mm squeeze-in going to make it look cramped. I have had natos stretch before (perlons too), so my hunch is to go larger as stretch would narrow the width.

    Thoughts?

20 with NATO or Leather it’ll be hardly noticeable whereas 18 will and only get more of a gap with use

Go 20. I always make my straps a little bigger and after they break in they will fit just right.

I'd say 20 but if you've got them why not try both and see what you prefer?

Watch arrived today and yes 18 leaves a tiny gap. The gap itself isn’t an issue (much) for me but it does make me think, as has been said, that if it stretches the gap would widen. Going with 20mm.

Soak your 20mm Nato in warm water, give it a good hard stretch in your hands, fasten it tightly around a bottle or mug etc. and leave to dry, it won't be far away.

Don't use a smaller strap ! they can catch the end of the spring bars when the slide around causing them to fall off.

If it the watch has 19mm lugs it needs a 19mm strap, not 18 or 20. If you have size 10 feet you don't wear size 9 or size 11 shoes.

Crown and Buckle have a good range of 19mm NATO straps at 12 yankee dollars a pop.

You do if you intend to sell the shoes on sales corner
