I really enjoyed this, especially as I owned the watch on the first page and now have the one on the second page, I can appreciate all the details which only reveal themselves through ownership.

And many many other GS models, like all the diver’s for example. A great guy and very good at explaining, had a sit down with Mr Kubo where he explained the design choices for the GS hi-beat diver.
Having owned a Grand Seiko I can well believe this deliberate and exacting attention to detail. I don’t expect other designers at the price point pay so much attention to the most minute details. I now want another one...

A good, quick, informative read. Thank you!
A bit more on Mr Kubo here: http://watchesbysjx.com/2018/05/gran...-sbgh255g.html
I believe he also penned the SBGV247, which in the metal looks quite superb.
Thanks for posting. It should go without saying given the precise design of Grand Seiko's but it was illuminating the care that goes into it.
Great article. The snowflake has a particularly lovely dial.
Excellent reading!
Thanks OP, that was a very interesting little read. Grand Seiko take their matchmaking very seriously but still with a sense of joy and wonder. They are rapidly becoming one of my favourites and once the coffers are replenished I expect to be adding another.

That's a good read!! Not helping with the "I'm not buying any more watches " mantra...
