As I've extensively told you before, my son sails a lot. One of the disadvantages of being the parent of sailing kid, is the hours waiting on shore. Over the years, I've met nice people and had great conversations.
One of the men I've met is Willem Dijkstra. He owns and runs a windmill restoration business - and has contracts and contacts in all countries. He's currently restoring Upminster Windmill: http://www.upminsterwindmill.org So he travels from the very north of The Netherlands - Chunnel - Upminster and does this for two years now.

And when he's working in Upminster, his company repairs church roofs and American-style windmills - there a lot of them in the northern part of Holland.

Talking with a man who's able to restore this sort of objects is one big joy and I'm always happy when I meet him for stories about the ongoing 'restos'.

When you visit and you see a man with curly hair, glasses and a ponytail, say hi to him from me!
