On the plant? Is it a triffid or summut? ;-)
Just a bit of fun. Complete the sentence in 30 words or less, or more if you like, as I can’t be bothered to count. I’ll let it run for a week and the cleverest/funniest/most ingratiating answer in the opinion of the judge (me) will get a modest prize relevant to this daft hobby.
Rude responses are welcome but please post them in the Draft Thread where I’m bound to find them.
Cheers, Mr C

I can look at small shoes and all sorts of other jumble, as well as the occasional stunning wrist watch.

... all tastes are catered for among the posts, even the hairy ones.
.....it made shoving poo through letterboxes a meme
.....there's never a cross word and any differences in opinion are handled maturely.
... no-one ever refers to their watch by its model number, because it's almost identical to 50% of the other watches people here own...
... no-one ever starts a reply to a thread on Breitling "I find all Breitlings far to bling, but...."
... they're a nice bunch of people, on the whole

TZ-UK is the best watch forum on the planet despite (insert reason/s here)

...you can ask a question about watches, cars or slow worms and someone from the TZ community will have an answer.
No one ever discusses Rolex.
..... Because of the new "Readers' Wives" thread in the Boys' Room!
Because before the last 200 threads on Rolex waiting lists, residuals, warranty cards etc.have slipped of the page someone will start another one on the same subject ad infinitum.
...because it has more than its share of wacko members who relentlessly espouse irrational positions!
There’s more pits and pelts than watches

...have you seen the competition....
...... I'm drunk and have poor judgement.
Thanks for (most of) the submissions thus far - some amusing, some rather predictable, some poignant and some downright odd
I have a current frontrunner but I'm sure that there are many gems still to come. I'm rather hoping for a contribution from Gyp

With a day or so to go I just wanted to share why I started this thread. It is relevant that I was posting it whilst boarding a flight, as I was heading towards the UK and the opportunity to meet up with some of the members here who have become good friends. Without the support received through people I've met via this forum I doubt I have got through life events of the past couple of years with such good humour and positive feelings. The generosity that I've experienced on numerous occasions from members who give up time, assist with their skills and donate their hard-earned to support worthy causes has at times been quite overwhelming. And there's always the bad puns, scathing sarcasm and amusing tales to find in every corner.
Sure there are some bad apples and threads that shouldn't exist. I've thought a couple of times this week that I should perhaps have been a bit cleverer and made it "TZ-UK is both the best and worst watch forum on the planet because..." or Bob's suggestion of "TZ-UK is the best watch forum on the planet despite...", however due to my personal, slightly sentimental reasons, I'm happy as it is.
...it allows me to receive pictures of bearded men, gurning on beaches, in the comfort of my own home (and without having to approach a specialist supplier).
In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.
...without TZ I’d never have heard of Louis Brandt, handled a gyrotourbillon, waterproofed my own diver or seen a watch modified to look like a weird Austrian calculator.
Thanks all, plenty of good responses to choose from. There were a few mentions of footwear and shoe size, but zelig's succinct reply which makes the sentence rather surreal when viewed out of context tickled my chuckle muscles the most.
TZ-UK is the best watch forum on the planet because I’ve got size 7 feet
zelig wins a copy of 'Harrison' by Jonathan Betts. I'll be in touch.
