That was a fun watch, thanks! I’m interested in the FTR but have to wonder if as a street/hooligan bike it’ll stand up to comparison with my Superduke (RIP)
Probably better bolted together than the KTM though. And is more beautiful (IMO).
Will probs have a test ride next time I’m up at the dealers.
I put the FTR LED headlight on my Scout Bobber which was a very worthwhile upgrade. Got caught out after dark with a dark visor (unintentional - lost bike key scenario) and it was really excellent.
Just the letter V on Instagram has one. Which is the only reason to check out her page.

Ha ha, love the Commando, couple of mates had those when I had a Z1. Great bikes but silly money these days.
You could always get an Enfield twin! https://www.royalenfield.com/uk/en/motorcycles/
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Lockdown Job #374: Exhaust wrap.
I know there are advocates and detractors. For me it’s entirely cosmetic.
Never been a fan of exhaust wrap.
Good on a competition exhaust for keeping heat in and speeding up gas flow, but on a street bike, I always think it's there to hide shabby welding or rusty headers. Each to their own though.
For a proffessional and better look, consider using lockwire instead of hose clips?
Looks way tidier, but you'll need some of these to do a proper job if you haven't already got some..
From about £30 to £150 depending on make.
Had a day out of lockdown today - and captured a few images...
A day spent in the outdoors, on motorcycles.
The day started early-ish at about 8AM, out in the back garden en-route to the garage. I noted how lovely the tree blossom looked and that it was about time I cut the lawn:
Arriving in the garage I was presented with my first choice of the day. Honda or BMW?
Normally I would choose the BMW for this duty but the Honda won (I decided last night if truth be told):
A short journey followed, ending with the bike parked in fairly utilitarian surroundings:
Into another garage and I was presented with my second choice of the morning. BMW or Yamaha?
Again, it was not really a choice because I'd already pre-booked the Yamaha:
By the way, that hi-viz livery really works - and they keep the windows clean in these parts:
So, another short journey and I arrive at my first collection point, Royal Stoke University Hospital:
That temporary metal fence is surrounding a newly established massive refrigerated facility. I'll leave you to work out the intended use...
Anyway... Having collected a few boxes, I travelled to Birmingham. This is my second stop (I forgot to take a picture at the first one) - the Medical School at Birmingham University:
Normally, this place is teeming with life. Today there was a couple of signs on the door. The first one said "Medical School closed to students" and the second one said "Beware - wet varnish".
I often wonder what's in these boxes..
I then nipped around the corner to the fairly new Queen Elizabeth hospital...
Again, it's normally difficult to park here, but these days, there's no problem at all.
Having dropped off my deliveries, I rode back from Birmingham to my home in South Cheshire, anticipating a nice lunch and perhaps another call later in the afternoon. I was at home precisely six minutes when the call came.
So, I set off for County Hospital, Stafford (the home town of yours truly and the subject of a grim tale of the healthcare crisis of the noughties).
My delivery point was back in Birmingham - the National Blood Service (Blood Bank) in Birmingham. This is the trade entrance!
Final stop of the day. A BP service station to fill up the FJR.
During this crisis, BP are funding all of the fuel costs for blood bikes, which is nice of them. Today I clocked up 241 miles on the Yamaha.
Having dropped off the Yamaha, I'm swapping one four-cylinder bike for another. I may be biased but I think the Honda is a bit more attractive:
Finally, home again - to discover the lawn has been done! :D
I’m thinking of mounting my phone (iPhone XS Max) on the handlebars of my GS Adventure, my new Rukka gear has chest protectors which means there are no internal pockets and the Bluetooth doesn’t like connecting if the phone is in the aluminium top box. I’ve narrowed it down to either the SP Connect or the Quad Lock, any others I’ve missed, any recommendations ?
I use an SP connect one on my 1150 Adv, never had a problem with the camera on my iPhone X since using it for a year or so. Bolted straight onto the bars. I’ve used a RAM mount for about 15 years on things and even though they are really good they are so agricultural now.

Possibly off topic, but Hackney council have a survey on their plans to tax motorcyclists by introducing extortionate parking charges, while pretending that it’s something to do with the environment. Hang on, don’t bikes save on emissions as well as congestion as compared to cars? Obvious money grabbing and simply a plan to make life worse. It’s worth filling in the survey and telling them to bog off, before it spreads to other councils. The idea is about as welcome as coronavirus.

Another vote for SP Connect.
Quad lock is faultless in operation but engine vibrations are transmitted straight to the phone. My iPhone 8+ optical image stabiliser got shaken to death. Cost me ~ £100 to replace it.
SP Connect has vibration damping integrated into the bracket. Otherwise they’re very similar.
I use RAM mount bolt and a flat plate, covered in velcro (hook). I simply stick loop velcro on the back of my phone. This is secure, doesn’t get in the way, and a lot cheaper and quicker to use that spending £50+ on a mount/case you don’t want. This set up has worked for me over 60-70k miles in all weathers.

How about a porky V Twin TL1000R ? Marmite bike and a half. I love it though.
sorry double post.
Here’s the phone adapter that clips onto the Nav mount:
Yeap, you have to be gentle with that throttle or you get spat off!!
