...actually an Aprilia - the bottom half is very pink; the owner is a member of the club so we tolerate his foibles

Love the way the camera angle can be changed, especially on the banked sections. When the video started I thought ď heís got the camera facing the wrong wayĒ. Lastly cant beat that Ducati sound.

Nipped up to North Yorkshire today - a 250 mile round trip. The weather was as you might expect for late October but I enjoyed the ride and some scenery...

Looks familiar, bike (with a few differences) and location...although your picture is much better than mine:

I suppose they are, but the bulk vanishes once aboard, and i`m always amazed at how such an apparently weighty bike feels so nimble and easy to manage.
I`m only 5`9" and ~68kg but i love big bikes - ones you sit `in` rather than `on`....

Yes, surprisingly nimble on the move. That looks like a lowered chassis version? (or optical illusion)

I agree, I reaction I am as quick if not faster on my GSA than my other bikes. If I had to have one, it would be no competition, it would win.

No, but I think there may be a few different factory options.. not sure how good they’d be as I don’t carry passengers..

Just checked there is a factory “comfort” option at £173. No idea how good it is though..

I think the comfort option is a tiny bit bigger. I need something like the touring seat on the previous model.

My current Rocket is setup single seat, donít think I could justify ( get away with) another singles seat.

    Thanks for that, great video.

I had my baffles out on the Diavel, but I think you were right to keep the baffles in on the Rocket. Sounded better with that slightly deeper / smoother tone.

Anyone looked at the BMW R18 family?

There are some crazy finance deals flying about on them.

I saw the normal R18 first edition when they first came out and just remember how big it was and how high the quality of the paint finish is.

No idea how they ride though.

Mixed reviews on YouTube but I did used to love the lazy torque of my Harley street Bob a few years ago.

Yes, apparently a revamp is out next year

Spoke to bmw about one, and they said that this was the first time they've ever seen a 0% deal on a big bike like this.

I've had a friends and family deal put in front of me that pretty much makes it a no brainer even if it were to just park it in my offices as a piece of art

I've got covid at the minute so I can't get in there to see one. As soon as I am allowed out I will get to the dealership.

I've seen some crazy discounting on then in the US as they struggle to shift them.

I tried one a while back. I think I may have posted about it on here

Summary was that it was indeed beautifully made, however I found the chassis and engine mismatched. The ride was quite firm so you needed to press on for it to smooth out, but the engine was coarse at higher revs.

Where the engine was great, the chassis wasn't and vice versa.

Took the Bonneville in for a service and MOT (both overdue) and had a few test rides while it was being done:

I've been looking for an excuse to try this out. I have to agree with most reviews I've seen - great handling, engine lacking just a bit of low down torque so needs some revs, brakes excellent, handling sharp and easy but suspension a bit harsh.

Next was a bike I wasn't expecting to like but it was a super 'little' thing - light, agile, great handling, comfortable, engine good but lacking some excitement; would make an excellent commuter/town bike.

I told the dealership I needed a bit more grunt after the Trident and I got it - very comfortable, easy riding position, feet down easliy (which I wasn't expecting) nimble, torque low down.

...and then back home; hopefully it will come out of the garage more often than since the last MOT:

p.s. forgot to mention this one-off at the dealership; looks great but a bit on the bright side of me:

    Ahhh...got you.
    Similar to my CB1000R.
Most of the 'baffled silencing' is done in there?
By leaving it untouched the ecu will adjust sufficiently to handle differences in the airflow a smaller and less restrictive end can brings.
I made the mistake of replacing my whole system. Runs rich enough, but there's a huge hole in the power delivery from 1500-2500 rpm.
Needs and ecu reflash really, but I think I might go for a RapidBike module?
    Decisions, decisions....
