New bike day for me today.
Missing the touring side and long travels on a bike, hence buying a BMW R1250GS.
Absolutely stunning ride and does everything really well, its been a long 4 weeks waiting to get home from work and getting it delivered today.
Cant wait for next week so I can get some miles on it.

Heads up that Quadlock currently has a 30% off sale if you need anything...
There is a case on Pepipoo where someone did this. He was fined for his actions. Personally I wouldnt risk it..
Below is some of the transcrip from the court case..🤓
I have seen the CCTV footage. On each occasion the appellant is on his bike driving towards the signs and the barrier. At the sign Mr B gets off his bike and pushes it past the sign before remounting the bike once he has walked with the bike past the sign.
The Traffic Management Order states that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle, except for a pedal cycle, travelling on the prescribed streets defined in column 2 to the schedule of this order to enter, proceed of wait in the prescribe street defined in column 3 of the schedule.
I am satisfied that the appellant did cause his bike to enter and proceed in the prescribed street set out in column 3.
I am satisfied that the sign at the location indicates motor vehicles prohibited. The sign does not indicate that the restriction applies only to vehicles that are being driven or that do not have their motors running. It means that motor vehicles are not permitted to proceed past the sign.
"The sign does not indicate that the restriction applies only to vehicles that are being driven or that do not have their motors running" - what a load of rubbish the sign clearly shows a bike with a rider on it...
Congrats! Saw your post on UKGSer. The GS is probably the most complete bike on sale today and capable of some astonishing things - its limit is the rider. It takes a bit of adjustment in riding style to get the best out of the Telelever front end and Paralever rear. But once adapted, you can trust it where traditional bikes would have a rider backing off. The 1250 torque + chassis enables it to challenge many sportsbikes if you are so inclined too.
I certainly have - I must have bought and returned at least a dozen pairs of jeans in the past, simply because they don't fit well enough that I'm prepared to wear them off the bike (or on it, to be fair). There's also the endemic issue of knee armour not necessarily being wear it needs to be when it matters, as well as the fact that lined jeans only offer partial protection in a slide.
Anyway, I recently bought a pair of these Pando Moto armoured leggings. They're an absolute game-changer in every sense, and I now wear my regular casual jeans when riding with the leggings underneath, without a worry. It's also really reassuring that the snug fit means the armour (both knee and hip) stays exactly where it should be. It's not unlike wearing a Knox armoured shirt - you really need to try it to understand how transformational it can be.
The 03's are AA rated, but Pando Moto have recently released an AAA rated version as well.
I'm still wearing bike jeans by Australian company "Hornee". Have even been known in colder months - to wear them socially.
They don't have armour pockets within, but I find the stocking knee armour from them or Knox is very good without adding to the overall warmth in the south of France in summer.
Only weakness is lack of hip armour, I feel.
I suppose the appetite for monitoring a spot will depend on the purpose of the ban. Near here is a motor-vehicle-less plaza through which delivery riders occasionally push their mopeds, without causing any bother than the cyclists. In my photo of half foot of banned road, the purpose is to stop the whole neighbourhood from being used as a shortcut, so getting off and pushing would be very much against the spirit of the restriction. Yeah, I won't be risking it neither
What I don't understand is that the sign is not at a junction, so I have to assumed it is a repeat sign. Otherwise, a motorcyclist can come from either side legitimately, as the interdiction starts at the sign.
It can be argued (and I have no doubt successfully) that the interdiction remains until it's ended, with a cream sign /black diagonal line. As such, it would indeed be illegal to ride/push the bike beyond the sign; but it would still be legal to ride up to the sign from either direction, and potentially turn back at the sign.

Has anyone had experience of registering an import? I applied for registration a couple of weeks ago and received notification today from DVLA that it needs to be inspected. Is this likely to be aggravation?
I bought this old CB360 cheap as a restoration project, Im in no rush as Im waiting on a new base and shed before I can even think about any real spannering.
This is the old girl in question.
I have been around this loop many times, I find the DVLA singularly obtuse and unhelpful.
Did you receive a NOVA certificate from the seller?
If not, you will need to contact HMRC to verify that no import duty is owing.
I have the contact details for the HMRC vehicles team, they are based in NI and are very helpful.
I will ping you a message with the details.
The best route to satisfying the DVLA is to get a dating certificate from a relevant owners club, the VJMC would be able to help.
The dating certificate is usually free for club members, with a fee for non-members which is comparable to the membership fee.
The dating certificate will require an inspection visit from a local marque specialist, the VJMC has representatives across the country.
You may be asked to pay travel expenses for the assessor, plus tea and biscuits

Exactly, the neighbourhood has a natural border to the north, and main roads on the other three sides. Until recently there were two one-way streets crossing east-west which were fairly busy but not an aggravation. Then a strangely wiggly line came down, north to south, dividing the neighbourhood in two, putting all the nicest houses on one side, and all the social housing on the other, removing the through traffic and introducing that eery housing-estate quiet which puts solo pedestrians on edge.

Wheels are pretty easy.
Do you guys seal up the spoke holes and fit tubeless tyres? With the wheel ultra clean/new- I'd be tempted.
Superb first run out on my R1250GS this morning whilst I had a few hours free.
116 mile loop competed and the new tyres all scrubbed in, looking forward to a all day run on Tuesday with a couple of mates.

Yeah - they're not scrubbed in ...............
I had to take my bike to the supermarket this morning as car is still in the dealer's ............ have to keep reminding myself that the tyres are the same temperature as my legs.
Think that is it in the garage for the winter.
