I finished off my numberplate relocation today.. After a bit of research I found the correct wiring plug so that I didn’t have to cut and join wires.. it’s all plug n play, and I can put it all back to stock in around an hour.

The plug was a bit fiddly, but at £1.50 for the correct fitting it was worth the effort..

Also think I might need a new tyre.... I've actually got a new pair of Michelin’s to go on, but not much point at the moment..🙁

Just picked up this armoured summer jacket with a massive sale reduction plus another £20 off for a voucher I had going spare. May not be everyone's cup of tea but I love it!!!

Tentative thumbs up to this news I guess. I wonder what sort of liabilities they’ve taken on in terms of pensions/debts etc. Hopefully they already have an accurate measure of this and will look after Norton’s people.

If I read it right in last weeks MCN , total debt stands at £28 million. 14 million creditors/ order/ hmg etc plus the pensions money that is unaccounted for a further 14 mill. I cant see a prospective purchaser wanting to acquire those sorts of numbers with their £16 m investment. Doesnt S .Garner still hold rights to the name, it would be criminal if he benefited long term in terms of royalties to TVM.

Well, the video states that they have taken on none of the liabilities or the pension.

    Half price Brough-Superior anyone?

Bit of a bargain, and possibly a better investment than a Rolex.

Who knows. If we had a crystal ball we would all be rich.

Blimey - that's a bit of a bike, and seeming;y handles quite well too.

Seen the gumph for the new Tiger 900? That's a cracking bike - I'm even a little bit tempted - will have to test it as and when!!!

I'd have an original in a heartbeat but the re-incarnation leaves me cold. I'm sure it's a good investment but I couldn't!

That new Brough is a work of art.

The spec doesn't look particularly bland, and the reviews are positive. It's a very different bike to the 800, so probably not a good yardstick.

Teapot One and other YouTube bloggers.

Was watching a motorcycle blog the other day.
This time it was an X copper by the name of Teapot One.
Seems quite knowledgeable and easy to watch.

However, near the end of his blog, he was asking for people just to play his clips. But not watch them. Just to get his stats up.

    What a nerve!
Never heard of that one before.

Usually watch the Australian. Million Dollar Bogan.
    Any recommendations out there.

Not the Missenden Fryer please. ;0)

I like Abhinav Bhatt's videos, although having an Enfield I may be biased. But his takes on KTMs, Yamaha's and others are interesting. Also it's nice to see bikers on different continents and their views on stuff. He seems like a nice guy as well, which helps.

teapot One got a disciplinary for one or more of his vlogs. He chose to pack in the Police, and try to make a living from the vlogs alone.

With hindsight probably not one of the best decisions he has made, since he was passionate about the channel and wanted to bring riding content out. He will be stumped on the riding content and limited on gear reviews. Another indirect casualty of covid.

Lovely area for riding - in fact I'll be heading out that way once the lockdown is lifted.

I agree he has some slightly irritating habits but a lot of his reviews are very good - I do watch him sporadically. I really do need to make some more of my own, though (and also need to wire up one of my open face helmets for the camera).

Would guess his salary has gone from £50,000 pa. to £5,000.
Jumping into being a full time bike reviewer with nothing to review.

He can only get more desperate over the coming months.
There is some stupid scam called Patreon.

This is where the chosen few supporter actually send these people money.

    Well, he's got 498 Patreon contributors, so that's a minimum of $498 a month that he's getting.

Used correctly, i reckon Patreon isn't too bad an idea. I contribute on a per-episode basis to a comedy podcast that I've enjoyed immensely for years. I've never managed to make it to, and pay to see, a live recording but I'm happy to contribute in the hope they continue to make the podcasts.

Recently parted company with my MT01. It was great fun, but just wasn’t getting the use it deserved.

Shame - it's a nice bike, not widely recognised but not underrated by those who do know the bike.

I can understand it on a channel like Jaret Campisi's - it gives you a chance to win some superbly customised bikes and also to influence the manner in which they're customised. Why anyone would want to become a Tea Pot Patreon is completely beyond me, though.

There are similar stupid scams called the cinema, Sky TV, Virgin Media and even West End shows.

They don't do it for free, it isn't charity. If you enjoy their content and want them to have the means to keep doing it they will need payment somehow. Can be from adverts, channel sponsors, giving useless products great reviews, or just the individuals who enjoy watching paying.

I don't have an account or pay anyone but you don't need to in order to grasp it. Video equipment isn't cheap. Neither is a a decent computer to edit the footage on, your time making the videos, your time editing the videos.

Well.....that's torn it....literally....after 18 years of hard use, the zip on my trusty, comfy, patina'd go-to Dainese black leather jacket has finally given up the ghost.
    Ahhhh...bollux!!! Love that jacket.
Any recomendations for a repairer and zip putter-inner please?
    Cheers

My local seamstress replaced the zip in my gf’s jacket for about £30 all in I think.
Top Stitch on St James’’s Street Brighton. Top job but I’’d imagine that any seamstress would do the same.

Had the zip replaced in my 20+ year old belstaff leather jacket by a local company. Any decent place can do it, but make sure they know it needs to be at least double stitched and strong enough to be protective in a crash!

    Gentlemen,

Please excuse the interruption, as I know nothing whatsoever about motorbikes.

However I thought I would share a link to one of my favourite YouTube channels, which given my penchant for all things Dutch, may quicken a bike lover's heart.

This is a link to the Dutch Police, Politie Team Verkeer Den Haag, who post up videos of their motorcyclist officers escorting ambulances through the countryside, along the snelwegen and in the cities to medical centres throughout The Netherlands. If you like powerful BMW bikes, speed and seeing professionals in action, their channel may be for you.

Fitted a fly screen and some smaller indicators to the CB...

I like the screen (although I haven't tested it yet) but the jury is out on the indicators... Here's a "before" picture showing the large orange jobbies.

I admire the RS 5Four, although I don't think I'd want to swap mine for one.

I think the clear lens indicators look smart. The small screen may not effect buffeting by your lid but it should take some wind pressure off your upper body.

I'd have it without the little fairing.

Love the zorst. If I didn't have the Akra on my S1000rr I'd get a Racefit.
