Mmmm, thats odd mate. I had the S1000RR and that had oem heated grips and they were well toasty, hence my question. I suppose different models get different grips or levels of heat. Bit odd being its the same manufacturer though. Why not ask BMW to let you ‘test’ the heat levels on other models. If some are noticeably hotter than yours ask if they will consider a swap perhaps.

Matte black. Have specified the v&h exhaust, k&n filter, side plate, LED headlight and I’m having to marginally debobber it with a passenger seat for Miss Plake.
Will post up some pics and thoughts when I’ve picked it up. Safe to say it’s a heart decision, rather that a head one though ;)

It’s absolutely beautiful and is one of the only three bikes I’ve owned that I’ve come back from a test ride grinning from. (Other two were a fireblade and the superduke)
Was very close to getting a Fat Bob instead...but do prefer the Indian for a number of reasons.

It's been rumbling along a couple of years now and John McGuinness still hasn't been paid the 60k he's owed for last years TT.
It seems Mr Garner is a bit of a scumbag who has been siphoning money out of the business via consultancy firms etc which he is a sole director of, not to mention raiding the company pension pot as well.
Hopefully he'll get what he deserves and the company can be resurrected with a decent team in charge.

Terrible news. My uncle has a Commando and it was the first bike I ever went on as a kid 35yrs ago.
An older friend has been on the waiting list for a V4 RR for over three years now. Put £25k down (originally a £5k deposit until eBay went mad) and has basically been fobbed off by sales staff at every expo and HQ he’s been to for the last couple of years. He ‘bought’ it after the all clear from cancer. However, the bike has now become more of a burden. Not sure what will happen now.

For the bobber I think matte black is the one. It’s kind of part of it’s purpose, to be as black as possible.
For the non bobber scout I do like the 2 tone.
A little frustrating listening to all the news reports that are trotting out the "founded in 1898" line, where more accurately the company that bought the name was founded in 2008 and, from what I can see as a casual observer, has never looked particularly able to turn deposits into motorcycles.

I saw a documentary about Norton recently and whilst it all appeared very slick - the engineering and attention to detail looked excellent and the owner was very convincing - it struck me that buying an enormous grade II listed county mansion to house a fledgling motorcycle manufacturer didn't look like good financial sense.
Thats a good looking bike. I was considering one but had my test ride on the Rocket last week.Had to nip to the Triumph dealers today...my new bike was in the showroom having been PDi’d .... not collecting till March 1st.... but nice to see it ready to go...

I remember seeing the new 850 Commando and T160 Trident in 1975 in a dealers near where I worked as a skint £14/week engineering apprentice.
The Commando is still my dream bike.
The new rocket 3 looks amazing, if (when) I decide to switch to a cruiser it will be top of my list.
Yeah, not so much dodged a bullet as really confirming what I already thought... the chances of them delivering Atlas to customers was somewhere between slim and none. I liked the look of the bike and just wanted to discount it from my thought process.
All academic now though as I settled on a Honda - which is totally different to the Atlas!

And that’s a great alternative for someone like me.... same power as the Rocket, albeit much less torque, but a massive 70kg’s lighter.
Here’s mine.. it’s the quickest bike I’ve ever owned, and I had a tuned ZZR1100 back in the day🤪
Love the Diavel, such a cool bike. Only observation - in London at least - is that every Diavel rider I've ever seen rides like they don't mind dying. Or like they'd immediately respawn if they did.

I can understand that... the Diavel does bring out my naughty side.. I’ve got to the point now where I’m happy to push on, but I wouldn’t dream of turning the TC off..
And in the wet I ride in Urban mode which softens the throttle response off and reduces power to 100bhp. Sport mode in the wet is interesting😈
I think the ‘normal’ Diavel is totally different to the XDiavel when riding. I had the Diavel and one of my mates had the X. We swapped for a while on one of our runs round Wales, I wasnt confident in the feet forward position at all. I dont think I could ever throw it about like I did mine. He has now chopped it in for a 1260S Diavel. Another of the lads also has an X and he can throw it about though?? I must say though, I can get around easily as quick on my Triple RS as I could on my Diavel, or my S1000RR for that matter, except on the long straights of course.

They are surprisingly very light. The seat is low, the CoG is low and the steering is light. Worth trying, although yours does look good. Here’s my other rocket..

You are dead right - the Diavel and XDiavel riding positions, and so rides, are completely different. I feel much more comfortable on my Diavel with its 'normal' position than on the XDiavel with its cruiser riding position (same on the Speedmaster and most HDs as well).

Well the new (to me) Honda arrived. 2019 CB1100EX, definitely pampered by the original owner and cleaner than any used bike has a right to be.
My challenge will be to keep it looking decent whilst ensuring I enjoy using it.
This is not the most popular model in Honda's range, and certainly not as popular as many other "modern classic" bikes - such as the Triumphs and Royal Enfields, or even the R9T or Z900RS. For me though it ticks plenty of boxes and the engine/gearbox is the big bonus - not the most powerful, but probably amongst the smoothest. It's a very relaxing ride and other than being a bit heavy (like me) it feels very well put together. It also seems great value second hand, at the equivalent value of my recently sold Yacht-Master.
Bring on the summer!
Agreed.... not a model I’m familiar with, but it’s a look I like, especially the spoked wheels... as for condition, it looks brand new

Besides which, can you imagine how long it'd take to clean?
[I actually did ride it through a puddle once. Literally, a puddle. Got a streak all down my visor from the front tyre.]
