Tony the wider bars and that “ top heavy” feeling are what is making you feel it likes to lean. Compared to the narrow bars on your TTR leaning and steering into bends will feel more natural.

Took the Blade out for a spin tonight, I was supposed to do some training but thought sod it, not too many pleasant evenings with some daylight left so why not?

This thing has really got into my skin more than the Speed Twin has, I can't explain why and I did like the the Triumph a lot so hard to explain.

I'm getting a bit more used to it now so getting more fluid when riding it and starting to explore the performance more but realistically I'm never going to exploit it to anywhere near its potential. Doesn't matter though, every ride on this is an occasion, and I'm now on my third "nice bike mate"! I love it.

Not on a par with Tony's snaps (Waitrose car park!) but can't resist posting another pic...

    It’s bloody scandalous, isn’t it?

Yes, it’s electronically adjustable and I have it set to rider only. The alternatives are all combinations of rider plus pillion and/or luggage.

top heavy feeling is probably the high mount exhaust , i felt the same about my speed triple (dual arrows) - changing them to a 3-1 system completly changed the handling and feel of the bike (for the better imo )

    The sideways ‘nod’

Is it me or is this a new thing?
When I was on 2 wheels before it’s usually customary to nod a fellow rider (obviously not on L plates)
Since my return I’ve noticed the nod has morphed into a sideways nod
Have I imagined this or am I right ?

For those of you coming to Brighton tomorrow…if you’re parking up and leaving your bike make sure it’s as locked as it can be.

We had 6 Vespas stolen on the mod weekender last week. Loads of horrible little scrotes active here at the moment.

Apparently there’s been at least two bikes stolen there today too.

A bit of bike porn from Krazy Horse this afternoon

Nice to see a Fantic Caballero in the metal there too. Physically larger than I expected and price wise somewhat of a bargain

Doing something very similar but in the van as I've got the dogs with me this time. Currently near La Rochelle and on my way to Germany tomorrow with a couple of stops on the way. Heading for Todtmoos. Great place and great roads for bikes if you head that way.

Spent a good while in Triumph Newcastle today, particularly taken with the Street Scrambler 900.
Very very interested in this model.

Few other shots of some nice bikes.
Triumph Trident, a couple of Street Twins and a lovely Street Triple R.

But this one really caught my eye, never seen anything like this from Triumph before and struggling to find anything out about it either?
Triumph Street Tracker in a lovely grey colour.

If anyone can tell me about the Tracker please do as it’s bloody lovely…

As the owner of a Street Scrambler, I'd say it's slow, under powered, coarsely suspended, under braked, poorly equipped and overpriced. And I absolutely love it. More fun than anything I've ridden in years. Highly recommended!

I believe it's a custom build rather than a factory bike.

Wow I’m really surprised about that, all the reviews I’ve seen have never really said anything but positives, but then I read your last remark and I’m glad someone has one who really likes it.

I want it for Sunday rides and a bit of a town bike tbh…
Just need to find a dealer with one to test drive now..l

Took the Hyperstrada for a spin today, fair few out, stopped in Benson at the Waterfront Cafe for a coffee.

Also finally bought a TechAir 5 vest as they work with any outfit and are now switchable between road and track via the app.

Well it's pretty, no doubt, and probably would have appealed to me instead of the usual black leather jackets. But these days I prefer a little edge when it comes to safety, so my go to summer jacket is the Helite Vented 2.0 Airbag Textile jacket.

Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

If you compare it with the almost identically priced BMW F900XR, the BMW has 40bhp more from the same capacity/configuration, more sophisticated suspension, better brakes, a fairing, a far more modern and sophisticated tech package.

But none of that matters on the Triumph because the grunt it has is at low revs (peak torque at 2850 rather than 6800 or similar), so progress, whilst leisurely, is relaxed.

I've done somewhere between 500 and 600 miles this weekend, from the Cotswolds over to Norfolk and all around the Norfolk and Suffolk lanes and loved every minute of it.

I'll be amazed if I've exceeded 70mph at any point, and that's where the little Triumph excels; it puts a smile on your face without endangering your licence.

For Sunday rides and a bit of town it's hard to beat. Get a test ride, and then, if you like it, get a 2019-on one :-)

You're absolutely right, Ian - the Triumph modern classics are all about the HT (high torque) engine. I think I'm right in saying that the exception has been the Thruxton, which has an HP (high power) engine.

Anyway, this was a cool video...

And that is exactly why I want something like the Street Scrambler, I have the Multistrada for the days when I need al the bells and whistles, cheers for the pointers, now to find one to test ride.

Have a test ride planned for tomorrow on the Royal Enfield Interceptor, looking forward to that one.

Went in almost the same direction, at least brand-wise,

First time ever, I decided to mothball the GS over the winter but wanted something to play with in it’s absence. Living in Scotland, there are lots of off road trails on my doorstep so a wee RE Himalayan seemed to fit the bill, and didn’t break the bank!

Having no end of fun on it, and it’s easy peasy to pull out of the garage, get on it without much of a kitting up faff, fire up and head off. Miles of smiles with only 24hp, but loads of torque!

Can’t wait to start fitting it up with a huge range of accessories available from both RE and the likes of Givi!

Edit: a couple of better pics

Im sure the Himalayan is vieing with the Interceptor as Enfields top seller in the Uk. Whilst Enfield themselves are now in the top UK best selling brands bumping shoulders with BM Yamaha and Honda. The transformation of the brand has been impressive, and with new 350cc plus a bigger Himalayan type bike in the pipeline their growth looks to be continuing.

Certainly I think the Enfields are good value for money. It all comes down to what you want the bike for. If you like hooning around with your knee down they're probably not a good choice. Owning a Harley beforehand had successfully relieved me of any wish to ride like that so I suppose that helps. As I've said before it's comparable to an early '70s 650 Triumph for power so similar performance. Sometimes I wish it had a bit more power, but most of the time I'm glad it hasn't! Since it's so reasonably priced, spending on a few 'improvements' doesn't seem hard.

Anyway, off out on it now. (old pic)

There’s certainly a lot to be said for smaller bikes; they’re great at legal, non licence threatening, speeds.

It’s hard not to be seduced by big figures, although I do know better!

My only excuse is that it was a bargain.

Having a little siesta in my air conditioned room then it’s out for a little scenic ride.
It’s sunny with a lovely cool breeze in Portugal.

I went straight through the Picos to avoid the rain and packs of Brits on GS with all the Rukka sensible gear (each to there own).
My bikes old Japanese I wear jeans and old leather jacket, travelling solo is much more fun.
You meet people, see things and learn more, already had a few invites.

I was pleased to find the Spanish also pronounce it pots and pans.

Took the angry bike out yesterday to stretch her legs. She snarled and howled into the evening when I rolled in... Life affirming.

Took the Multistrada into the garage for a bit of a refresh, did a great job, looks like a totally different bike now, very happy with it ;)
