I have some, they’re single layer, look just like proper jeans and the top ones have a slide time better than leather.

Are you considering ditching the BMW Tony or would this be an addition?

Well, made a small start to the modifications I want to do to the Interceptor.
This was the starting point, after collecting from the dealer.
First thing was to remove the black plastic mudguard extensions front and rear, as they don't fit the look I want.
Front gone.
And rear gone.
And remove the rear grab rail as well (leaving the handle for pulling onto the centre stand as I intend to keep that on the bike).
Next will probably be a different tail light and indicators, and a different number plate. The seat will probably go for the Continental models seat instead which I prefer. The silencers are most likely going to be replaced by something more like the old Dunstall Megaphones. Should be fun.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
My bike left for it’s 2 month voyage to NZ on Monday.
I was a bit short notice,I changed the oil and filter myself, then cleaned her 3 times to pass immigration controls.
I also had the tyres, chain and sprockets replaced, I estimate I will do about 4,000 miles though distance isn’t the objective.
When I get there I have to get my front brake lines replaced as they are bolted rather than crimped ends,my importers are can do sorts and are taking care of it for me.
They are also Picking me up from the airport sorting out customs and the MOT type test.
Hel posted the next day for me,they understand the NZ regs and marked the hoses they also gave me 20% military discount.
The cost is mounting up though with all the little extras,it’s worth it though.

On the subject of Triumph Bobbers, apparently Triumph have got a big seller on their hands.
So I was surprised when I popped in to the Triumph dealer in Swindon at the weekend to note that they still had the 2 second-hand Bobbers in stock that they had when I was bike hunting back in March.
OK, the only reason for still having them in stock is price and there's a bit of end-of-season discounting going on now, but that's a long time in stock for such a popular model
The bobber is nice but it’s by no means going to fly off the shelf.

Triumph finally have a showroom and service in central london again, should anyone else have been waiting for it to reopen.
Meanwhile slightly off topic but I wouldn’t mind a go on this:

I’m imaging something like a more torquey Street Triple or like an SV650 but with 100bhp - in which case what a great road bike, give or take the sporty looks and high price.
The London showroom is a
Welcome addition. I have to say that the guys from Triumph Ashford are superb as are Guildford (for certain things)

No. Just glad you’ve found a bike that you like

Would love to get some time on the bike today -- haven't ridden it since Sept. Will definitely get some time on it tomorrow. Enjoy the clear roads and if out later beware the drunk drivers. Merry Christmas.
Also had a lovely ride out this morning. Sun was shining, roads were empty. Perfect start to Christmas day.
I am a fair weather rider only. Dont mind the cold too much but any sign of wet/damp roads and I am not happy. Fair play to you guys if you have ventured out but I think it will be a couple more months before I take a flirt out.

....yeah, I know. The photo isn't quite as magical as LTF's!
up until 16.00 or are there lights I cant see?
No lights, no indicators, no brake light. Ride to track. Have a blast, ride home. All fun!
I raced the 250f for a few years, the 450f was an animal and too much for me.

To be fair it's too much of an animal for me and I've had everything from Blades to Busa's. Dropped a few teeth on the front sprocket just to keep the front wheel under control and have never used the launch control switch. The 250 probably would be a much less insane choice.
Smaller front and larger rear sprocket reduces power (I think).
Anyway, a local MX specialist did it for me and it works. I purchased it with full race gearing and It was too aggressive for road use.
Personally I wouldn’t buy a TFC!
I would buy a Thruxton R that’s pre owned for good money and customise it to a better or more individual spec so it is unique not just another ‘spend a lot to impress’ like Harleys CVO and the TFC etc, its a hefty and in my humble opinion routine/dull tweak of an outstanding machine

Interesting view, Kerry, but possibly a little harsh. I was quite tempted by a Thruxton TFC a few months ago, as Triumph North London had one and were offering me a decent deal on my 9T. There's no question that if you add up the value of the options/extras on the TFC the package is being sold at a decent price (albeit that it's not cheap); it's also a very limited edition and that has its attractions too. The thing that put me off was that the clip-ons were very low - well, and that I'm not anywhere near ready to swap my bike for anything else - but it was a lovely thing for sure.
I'd perhaps argue that TFCs are for those that can't afford to customise!
As many have demonstrated (myself included) it's very easy to spend big on accessories/upgrades for Triumphs which don't add to the value of the bike come trade in time, and personalised bikes can devalue the bike. They can also cause problems with insurance too.
If the TFC has the accessories that you were looking to add anyway, it's a way of getting them in a way that they hold their value.
As ltf points out though, Triumph's enthusiasm for really low clip-ons on their TFCs reduces the customer base somewhat.
Spot on, and far more effectively articulated.
The niggle for me was that the TFC clip-ons were far higher quality/spec and would have cost a fair few spondoolies as an upgrade. Triumph were happy to swap them out for the standard R's clip-ons, but weren't looking to make any financial adjustments (there was a reason the TFC bars couldn't simply be raised, but I can't remember what it was.)
As I say, more of a niggle than a deal-breaker. The main issue was that I didn't want to sell my 9T to make the TFC possible, and i'd have needed to.
