Should be Triumph fixing it, not Enoch bodging it!

Triumph should definitely sort it (though if it's out of warranty now maybe not)

Like your Rocket, my Harley under-read by about 10%, but I'd got so used to speedos over-reading by about 10% I always assumed that the Harley was doing the same thing.

Once I checked the speedo with a GPS and discovered that the speedo was out in the wrong direction I realised the bike was nowhere near as slow as I thought it was. When the speed showed 70 I thought I was doing 63 but was actually doing 77

Of course I always thought that a true 80 would be ok on the motorway, so would cruise at up to 88 indicated, which turned out to be about 97. No wonder the thing was running out of puff.

    Garmin Zumo

Can anyone advise which zumo models use this connection?

Mine is a zumo 346 and is 4.3” display. I’d like to upgrade to a bigger display if possible but I want to use the same connection as all my bikes are fitted with this holder and I share the Satnav between them. I don’t want to go to the expense and trouble of re wiring all the holders for a different style of connection👍 So far I’ve only found the 396, which is newer than mine, but still only 4.3”

^^^ Sadly, I reckon you're going to be out of luck, Enoch. I'm pretty sure the mount is specific for the 34x/39x series - all of which are the 4.3" display.

Edit. The only other current Garmin Zumo is the XT which has a different mounting system:

I think you need to pop the question either direct to Garmin or a Garmin forum Enoch. My 390 is two pins like your 346 , but the newer generation XT’s are 5 pin in a vertical strip. Sorry cant advise further

One would hope Garmin could provide some sort of Adapter. I also have a Zumo but tend to charge it via a USB port on an external battery pack.

Yep… I’ve done as much googling as I can and it seems you’re correct… Not the end of the world as I don’t want to spend the best part of £500 on a new unit, when I can buy another 346 for less than half of that👍

The problem with that on my 346 is that the USB port is on the back, so if there is a connector in the port, the Satnav won’t fit into its cradle

Enoch, firstly let me wish you and yours a Happy New Year.

Last time I was at Barmouth the powers that be were enforcing a strictly no parking policy in that area. Has that changed do you know, or perhaps it was just not busy?

Likewise happy new year to you and your lot👍

I just followed the crowd, I can understand why they wouldn’t want people parking there though..

We were only there 10 minutes or so then we split up as some of the guys were from stoke and wanted to get going…. My little crew continued on to Harlech and Over to Betws y Coed…

heres hoping for a good biking year , i bought the MT10 in oct last year and have only managed to get out on it about 5 times since due to crappy weather and other commitments :/

    * after spending much time in the freezing rain and cold when younger on bikes i am now a certified fair weather rider unless caught out in it.
** christ the MT0 is thirsty , about 100miles to reserve on a full tank - bike has been nicknamed 'oliver' after most *issheads hero oliver reed

Out`n`about today for the first ride of 2022.

Anyone recognise where i stopped here?:

I had a ride down into Kent this afternoon. I wore a mesh jacket, jeans and summer gloves; it was a bit fresh but it was too nice to not go out wearing light gear for what might be the last opportunity for weeks (or months).

My instructor on them was called Sarron. Christian Sarron.
He may have had a slower bike but none of us held it against him

^^^^^^^It is related to the theme of this thread, i thought maybe others had visited this historic `attraction` - it`s the Lawrence of Arabia Memorial, Dorset.

It was at this stop that i realised that i had been riding for the previous 20 miles with my keyless key hanging out the back of the top box lock - you can just make it out in the pic.
    Damn keyless......

You need to be more careful.
    Those keys are £200 each.

But no good to anyone else unless they want to steal your bike.
They cannot be reprogrammed for a different bike.

Sold a BMW to the trade. Kept my spare key as maybe the case will have a value to someone.

Not sure why, but this photo makes me smile. Nice Bonnie. Is it a 790?

Ta for responses, yes it was a while ago, just after we were allowed out from the 1st lockdown , and yes, It's a 790 Bonnie, apparently the older engines are eminently tunable......I'm just chuffed I can post pics nowCheers, John B4

They certainly are…. I have a mate that running a big bore kit, high lift cam and throttle bodies. His bike is knocking on the door of 100bhp runs perfectly and is pretty damn quick..

His aim was to emulate this from back in the day..

Wow, that's impressive, I think when they were first released they were 61BHP so that's some gain. When I got mine the previous owner had done some mods to help it breathe better and it is quite lively, my mate has the later model and they seem about the same power wise. Nice to see you out and about again too, Cheers, John B4

Being on GS i hope you rode along the legal track which is 5 minutes away from where you were, and through Moreton Forest and across the ford to Moreton, and the small graveyard where Lawrence of Arabia is buried.

Just scored a brand new Triumph comfort seat for half price… to cold to try it out but I’m sure it’ll be an improvement over the stock seat👍

It tastes as good as it looks… Pork n Leek sausage, 3 rashers of thick bacon, egg, mushrooms, hash browns, tomatoes, black pudding, toast and a coffee for £9.45

Well worth a visit. The food is excellent and the staff really care about the service they provide, can’t recommend it highly enough, but be prepared for it to be very busy at weekends and in the summer..

Too nice not to go out this afternoon.
Tactical mistake taking the one without heated grips though to the point where I ended up cutting the ride short.
Any recommendations for heated gloves? Must be warm as toast and cheap as chips.
(and look good and have lots of protection)

Your requirements are I think mutually exclusive. Cheap won't give good and good won't be cheap. Personally I've found Richa 3 finger gloves to be brilliant. Look strange but so warm.

Well that was exciting… thought I’d pop out for a short ride after lunch, riding through the village to the main road…….yikes complete front brake failure👎

Lever came straight back to the bar, and brake fluid spraying everywhere from left hand brake pipe.
