Of course it would be possible (easily) to do this on a pure road bike, but for me, the GS (or my Multistrada) is ideal due to it's easy manoeuvrability, excellent view (over hedges etc) and general comfort. Also good to feel confident when its necessary to hop on to the grass verge to avoid oncoming tractors etc.
How many can you stack?
Aprilia have just revealed their 660 Tuareg which may be worth looking at.

It’s not a difficult concept: your PC is not a part of the internet and therefore you cannot link directly to it.
The easiest way is to use Tapatalk, as it hosts the images automatically.
Other than that, you need to use a host (imgur, for example, is free) and paste the link.

I was sad to see the RR go though. Brilliant bike, very fast, comfortable for a superbike and utterly reliable. Someone's going to get a great bike.

I rode that a couple of weeks ago (have done it a couple of times over the years (painful on an RR but was much easier on a GSA this time). There was a detour in place by the phone box this time which actually took us on an even nicer route through there. If anyone is interested in staying near there, the Y Talbot is a great Inn and very biker friendly (and there are many nice rides in all directions from it) Personal favorite is the Crossgates to Newtown Road (in both directions)......

My head is being turned by the Tiger Sport, a far more powerful and somewhat better looking sibling than the 900 range. In fact, it would fit the bill so well that I think it would make a very decent one bike solution.
Looks like I'll be making a call this morning... spec'd up with the Arrow end can, a centre stand and heated grips it take the price to just over £12k. A low seat isn't included in the configurator, but I know somebody who has the lowering kit and the low seat on his, so I know that both are possible.

I guess best to buy the arrow from the supplying dealer and ensure it’s properly mapped for- would almost certainly affect air flow hence fuelling ( I would think)
I suppose what I’m saying is don’t just assume you can pop on the can at home afterwards
The Tiger Sport was discontinued last year. Damn good bikes though, I have one. Great fun to ride, brilliant engine, handle really well, fabulous slow speed manners but loads of grunt to get them shifting, probably the best all-rounder I’ve ever ridden. I had speed triples for years and the tiger is no slower in the real world and a lot more comfortable. The only real bad points I’ve found are the crap seat and the wind noise. Some people complain about the cruise control buttons but I think they’re fine. They are not light and not designed for off road at all. I’ll be keeping mine for a long while though

I tried a Tiger Sport 1050 before I bought the Multistrada. Lovely engine but the ergonomics didn’t suit me so well, and there was a ton of wind noise from the standard screen (although that can probably be remedied with an aftermarket screen).
There are quite a few lightly used ones available right now.
I know a guy who rides one - at our local IAM group. He can’t be more than 5 ft 5.
AFAIK, they are not EU5 compliant, so I’d be very surprised if you could register a new one now. Could be wrong though.
Will you still be taking the Tiger Sport off road?
You're a grown up and can make up your own mind but if you still want a fun bike and a touring bike with off-road capability, I still think you're better off with the TTR+1

I had a Tiger 1050 before the R1200R, and that was the bike I rode 2-up to Naples.
Lovely bike, but tall and getting it out for use was an "event". The BMW that replaced it was far more manageable, far quicker, braked better and handled better.
I suspect the Sport was a step up from the original version though (if for no other reason than the button to step through the displays was relocated from the dash to the left cluster)
I didn't; I had the comfort seat. Same height as standard but comfy.
I'm an awkward bugger that likes to avoid a tight knee bend, so prefer the leg position afforded by a standard seat

The salesman confirmed that the current £28k Harley Livewire will be £14,995 next year as the standalone Livewire 1.
I suspect there may be a fair few disgruntled early adopters
Is it the same model or a downgraded new version that will be 14k?
Same motor, same battery, same chassis, same range, same charging times, same running gear, same styling, different colours, different tank badge, different price.
Livewire 1 looks very much like it's a HD Livewire
It is the same bike but with a different badge on the tank.
The salesman’s slant on it was that HD Livewire buyers are likely to be collectors who will put them away as an investment.

Yes, that's definitely a salesman's slant.
I put it into sport mode early on and just left it there. I did put it back into rain mode but it felt so sluggish that I put it straight back.
Whilst I didn’t take it over about 85mph, the torque in the mid range is phenomenal (so all the way through really). Overtaking is almost instantaneous. There’s plenty of regen so slowing back down after an overtake is quick too.
I was out on it for about an hour and it took most of that time to get used to it; the engine braking on throttle off is do great that I was stopping way before the junction without using the brakes. It’s something that you’ll get used to pretty quickly though.
I found the suspension very hard and would want to sort that out if I bought one. I didn’t like separate indicator switches on either bar but that’s just because all the bikes I’ve ever owned have one indicator switch on the left bar.
I’m seriously considering one next year when the price is more reasonable.
I’d be pretty annoyed if I’d spent the best part of £30k only to find that if I’d waited a year I could have bought it for half the price.
I’m guessing they haven’t sold many.

Re engine braking , imagine jumping off a livewire onto a normal bike at a junction, you will be going straight on!
The indicator on each bar was used by BMW as recently as 2009, my GS had indicators on both bars.

I went down on my XJR1300, a bike blessed with more than it’s share of grunt/engine braking; it really felt lacking after the Livewire!

@Cavham..was it your red GS you just traded in for a newer version? The guy that bought it has just listed it for sale again I think as it is “too much”. Camberley based buyer?
