shoei make great helmets - if they fit you well you can also take a look at HJC which are similar (im using a HJC rpha 11 vermo which is similar to the shoei air and one of the best ive had for ventilation in the summer )

Just FYI, I've posted some Bull-it Covec Jeans FS if anyone is interested. Great jeans, just bought another pair in a smaller size.

It was amazing this year, and yes saw the bikes being given berries up the hill! My sons absolutely loved it, especially the wheelies

They were also very excited when we came across this in the car park (so had been driven there and wasn’t being exhibited )

    Reading Henry Cole's A Biker's Life.

I've only seen him on a few episodes of his TV shows and find him an interesting, if unengaging eccentric.

I've recently been watching The Motorbike Show, and he's grown on me, and I'm seeking out more of his stuff. I was amused at his "review" of the new Triumph Street Scrambler; the bike I'd just bought; he was at the factory launch in Portugal, and pretty much rather than review the bike he used it to facilitate a travelogue through the roads of the Algarve and southern Spain.

I'd no idea of his backstory though.

The book is (now I've distracted the mother-in-law with a beer to get me some peace) unputdownable. His early life and relationship with bikes is fascinating, and the more I read, the more the review makes sense. The bike is what allows him to experience the world in the way he does rather than the world being there for him to experience the bike.

Looks like I'm going to be working in Newcastle again by the end of the month, and I quite fancy taking a day trip down to Brighton before I go (weather permitting). If anyone local to me (north London/Herts) likes the idea then just drop me a PM... not a race at supersonic speeds down there, though.

Good job Enoch, well done!!. Myself and Phil will hopefully be doing this road on Sunday, weather permitting. I played till the end to see if you got yourself pulling in the car park and see myself where we met.

Cheers Mouse.... it’s just the pegs touching down, doesn’t take much on tight turns, but they just fold back so not a problem..

As for hustling, that was just a very gentle cruise at less than 3k rpm... although it’s only 75 Bhp, she does pick her heals up if you really gun it. Not sports bike like by any means, but enough to be fun, especially with the suspension limitations.

It’s just a fun bike, not brilliant at anything, but good enough to BOB around on hear and there..

    Cheap to run too.

    Wow...that fuel data is impressive!!
Few years back I had an Aprilia TuonoR with modded TB's.
On a run down to Swizerland a few years back, one afternoon, it averaged 26mpg.
Mate did the same run in his TVR Chimera a week later, and managed 27mpg.....

The road in your vid looks great....I think I've ridden it....not sure...
    Where please?

Yep, no complaints re fuel consumption, if you look at this data, it shows the TRUE average over 4.5k miles..

I get 210 miles per tank on the GSA

30 litre tank and always fill up 26 litres per 200-230 depending on the weather (summer is faster)

That’s an impressively low miles/tank number for a GSA!! Do you ever shut the throttle?!

    Hahahaaa.....bit of both I guess.
I toured central Spain a few years back, the GS's with us were very, very useful.
Fuel light on the Tuono on at 85-100 miles....would syphon from GS into empty plastic water bottles, then into Tuono to make next fuel stop.

I always struggle to understand why motorcycle drive belts are so expensive, when they are, fundamentally, the same as car cam belts.

At least in materials and construction if not in size.

Ok, there's a fair amount of work involved, but the belt needn't be that expensive.

I'm guessing the main dealer would only fit the OEM part though

My MPG display on both bikes is way off reality, the Ducati being worse..

Display on the Triumph is around 6 or 7 mpg more than actual. Display will show 69 mpg, real mpg is around 62-63

The Ducati will display 62, real MPG is nearer 52

Traffic lights, cameras and 20mph limits. I'm right by Bank. The roads out in Hertfordshire make up for lost mph or that would probably be less.
