This is the correct answer. Omega's at their best when they come up with something distinctive that doesn't look like it's trying too hard. :)

Bond SMP for me. Although I'd be happy with pretty much anything that's pre ceramic.

Loving this thread, lots of diversity and yet you still see elements of the same design DNA in all of them. Hard to pick a favourite but I guess it has to be the SM300 ref 165.024 (I think).
    Then it is the 2254.

I hope omega end up re releasing it, with an updated bracelet / clasp and ceramic but change nothing else at all.
Agreed on both points but with an alloy insert to the bezel instead of ceramic.

The 60s SM300 is pretty hard to beat but these two come close IMO, (no not both mine):

For me it has to be the 2541.80 or the original Bond SMP (quartz) from the film Goldeneye. Loved this film when it came out in 1995 but couldn't afford one back then but fast forward 20 years and thanks to this very forum a found a cracker.

    Cheers

2201 for me, the original PO. I love the 2254 but the numerals on the bezel are a bit massive!

I’m another big fan of the 2538.20:

And not yet mentioned here yet but I have a penchant for the 2255.80 too:

How about the GMT version of the bond? You get all the benefits of the bond, but with applied markers and a GMT hand.

Issued SM300 but I'd settle for a nice unmolested vintage SM300

I have that model and wear it a lot.

I really wish that Omega made other models available with quartz movements (along with Rolex too).

I think that they are really practical for daily use and I could be sorely tempted by a quartz Planet Ocean.

No stigma regarding quartz movements in my eyes. More practical, more robust and potentially much cheaper to service.

I may be biased but I believe the original Liquid Metal 2500 PO LE is a bit of a looker..

Thank you and yes it's in almost new condition and barely worn. I was lucky enough to get a response to a wtb post last year and was chuffed to bits with the watch.

Yup, had one and liked it better than my PO even though the PO is a technically better (supposedly) watch.

    On it's mesh..

Anyway really regretted selling it afterwards (it's ever thus) so last month bought this one thanks to Bootsy on here. Hasn't gone on the mesh yet!

    Cheers Ian.

Yes, I have and love that version too (at least aesthetically - the lack of bracelet adjustment is a proper pain).

2254 for me. I've had one since 2000 and very nearly sold it this year. I'm so glad I didn't.

Agreed — completely beautiful. That's a very appealing watch, and one with an identity of its own.

I love it in pictures, especially MFB Scotland's from his recent SOTC thread, but in the fleyi found it underwhelming and didn't like the 'tropical' effect dial at all.

That is lovely and without the faux aged lume and the numerals on the dial would be almost perfect.

I've never been a fan of titanium, but I love the look of this model. I recently sold the black-dialled steel version and miss it already! :(

For me the 42mm 8500 PO, one of my all time favourite watches. I let my blue liquid metal go to one of the forum stalwarts as I actually prefer this model. I'm hoping to see a photo of it in here soon.

I’ve owned plenty but I would say this one, doesn’t look anything special in the jewellers window but when you handle it in person it’s a work of art, the Ceramic bezel goes very well with the beautiful ceramic dial.

The quality of this blew me away shame it doesn't come with an adjustable clasp though (I think the new ones do).
