Old TV series worth watching

Has anyone watched Miami Vice lately? I keep thinking I'll buy the whole lot on DVD, but never do.

Does anyone remember a series called something like Yang Ptang Kipperbang? A storyline similar to Gregory's Girl but with a running naration by John Arlott, I think.

John Albasiny, the principal actor in that, has given me a few Russian lessons. He’s a lovely guy and the most inspirational language teacher I’ve ever met.

The Beiderbecke Affair - James Bolam at his best, post likely lads. This was shown as a trilogy originally I believe but I managed to pick them up on DVD a while ago, well worth hunting out if you can find them.

I remembered it being more than one series, but I realise you meant there were 3 series, not just 3 episodes, now I've looked it up.

Interesting that it was intended as a kind of sequel to a series featuring Alun Armstrong, who Bolam appeared with in New Tricks!
