When blue turns to gold !
The dials blue paint has failed dramatically on this 1972 Heuer Silverstone leaving a mottled gold patina.
This phenomenon is a known trait with various blue paints of this era. I replaced the blue bezel with a NOS one to give this watch its dramatic contrast.

Steinhart GMT LE this week. One of my favourites, bought a while back on SC.

I can't believe it's Friday already. What happened to last week...?

Be safe and have a good weekend.

It had been polished by hand previously (you can't lap these cases, they're front-loading) and didn't look good but Simon told me he could give the case a radial finish by taking off minimal metal. It looks superb, considerably better than the previous soft and uneven finish, and I've been wearing it pretty much since it came back.

Congratulations to you and all, hope all are well

Popped into Chichester to switch to a Hirsch Heritage strap.
The car showed 31c, and it felt it. A hot, sultry, weekend coming up.

Pretty confident that this was sufficiently wasserdicht for a dip in the sea.

This from 1985, trying to convince myself that wearing this 3 days a year is a good enough reason to not sell it.

Very nice. I note the "T for Tritium" dial, is it an 83 model?

No Sir, that's exactly as it came to me, just camera picking up light weirdly I think, as you know titanium is not really that shiney.

Panerai 682 today. I understand the new versions have a solid case back, so maybe this early version will be collectible in a few years

Thanks. No, this is one of the 2013 batch where quite a few Luminova incorrectly stamped T dials slipped through the net. Interestingly there were also a few of the Autos around that time with L incorrectly stamped on Tritium dials.
